Dustless pads
Having good performance and no dust from "Titanium" pads from JCWhitney... and only $32 bucks. No squeal, or funny noises either like some of the other semi-metallic or metallic pads. They come with anti-squeal shims that stick on the back side of the pads before you mount the in the caliper.
...are you trying to make fun of the OE stuff (I hope you're not serious). Worst dust I've seen in a while... well the newer VWs have THE WORSE pads for dust... with VW OE pads after 500 miles you can't see the colour of your wheels anymore!
If I owned a newer Vdub I'd put some EBC pads in there right away. That amount of OE dust should be illegal! I cleaned the rims on my sister-in-law's 2001 Turbo Beetle.. already starting to pit the finish on the rims... terrible sh*t. She has less than 13,000kms on it.

I thought the OEM pads where the same one's that came on our trucks from the factory, and are the original equipment replacement pads? If they are the same, they leave hardly any brake dust whatsoever on my wheels. But if they are not the same, I can see your point.
Brake Dust
Wolverine,
I'm confused. You where asking about the Titianium pads in another thread you started, because you wanted a pad that did not leave a lot of dust. If the OEM pads don't leave a lot of dust why are you looking for something new?

Sorry if I confused you. I was looking for some pads for when I have to replace the original ones I already have. Since this is a different thread, I thought I might make a comment on how the OEM pads ARE NOT leaving alot of dust on my wheels. I will problably get some Titanium pads from JC Whitney when the time comes to replace them. You know, just to try something different for a change.
Alright.
I found the OE pads were quite a bit more dusty than the Titanium pads, not as bad as some OE pads like the new VW's but dust never-the-less.
For the money you can't beat'em either.

Carbotech & Hawk sell linings that are chemically treated to repel dust away from the vehicles. I run both thier shoes & pads on two different vehicles, braking is at least 20% better, no brake fade & dust production is about 50% less than OEM.

Bottom line: I loved the low dust but hated turning rotors every 2-3 months.

I have a 99 F150 Ext.cab 4x4 replaced the original brake pads with ceremic pads from Napa about 15 months ago and love not having to clean them every two weeks. When these go bad I will replace them with another set of ceremics.
It seems that most vehicle manufacturers equip their vehicles with soft OE pads.
The reason they do it is that you get great braking with little pedal effort (initially). I suppose this gives a feeling of security during your test drive.
So many owners I know curse the crap on their nice wheels soon after they take their new baby home.
I don't understand why the manufacturers don't just use semi-metallic like the Titanium pads from the factory. I love'em.
Someone should take the dealer to court on account of brake pad dust ruining the finish on expensive wheels!!!
