Cool need quick help w/tire size

I am getting chrome 17" wheels to replace my stock 16" set. The only mods my truck has so far, is a dropped back end to level it out. I am pulling my hair out trying to decide on tires. I do not want them to stick out of the wells, but I dont want them tall and skinny either. Can anyone recommend a nice looking size, that will fill my wells, but not look too bulky? As far as the width, I would like them wider, but not looking like a skateboard.

Thanks guys.

That's kinda tough actually. Size options you commenly find in a 17"
265/70/17
265/75/17
275/70/17
275/60/17
Seems to me like either of the latter choices would be better for you. If you could find a 275/65/17, that'd probably be just right, wider, not too tall, and not too short either. The 265/75's look too tall and skinny. Were it me, I'd go with the last choice. They're relatively short (compared to the others), but can look really nice especially with a set of good 17" rims. In addition, the Michelin Cross terrain in this size looks good as well.
Hope this helps, enjoy!

thx bjays red, I knew someone would come through here. The 275/60/17 is what a couple of places quoted me also, so I think I will go with that. I am glad you could confirm this, so I could be sure they werent just trying to push a tire off on me.

Thumbs up

275/60/17 looks great on these trucks, they also come as the stock size on the Sport and STX models. Here's a pic showing the width.,,,,98

2001 Lightning wheels, but that tire size makes all the difference. Looks great with the beefier rubber on it. Nice job!!,,,,98
