Cool 15inchers on my 97 F150?

Hello:
I have a 1997 F150 XLT SuperCab OFFROAD 4by with 17 inch rims. The 16's and 17's are too expensive and there isn't much of a selection (M\T) to choose from. I want to run 15x10 white monster wheels with 33x12.50 SuperSwamper TSL'S. I'm wondering if anyone knows if 15 inch rims will fit on my truck?
Thank you,
Tim

You can, but you have to get one with a really small backspacing. I'm not sure what exactly you have to have but you wheels will stick way out on the truck. I would reccommend sticking with some 16" wheels. Besides swamper has been making ALOT of new styles of tires for 16" rims.

Thanks powerstroke, I dont understand why ford would make a truck that couldnt run 15's but I suppose they had their reasons. Someone told me that the rear drums were to big to use 15 inch wheels but I'm not sure if that is true. I may go down to a 16 or I have been thinking maybe 16.5x9.75.

15's will not fit, the wheels will hit the brake caliper not sure about the rear drums. I don't know if anybody even makes a set of 15's with the 97 and up bolt pattern.

Actually i had a set of 15x10 Mickey Thompson Classic II's on my pickup when they first came out with 33x12.50 geolander m/t's
so they will fit just make sure to take it to a professional shop who will get the proper backspacing!

Dreamer the problem is not the calipers, but the rear drums. That is where you would run into problems. And yes they will fit, there are a couple people here on the boards running 15s. Snowball is one of them. Also there a few different companies that make a 15" rim for a 5 on 135mm bolt pattern.
