Michelin LTX M/S

A buddy of mine has a 4x2 and is considering these. His truck is used mostly in the city and on the highway. He is wondering whether this is too much tire for this application. He's also curious as to how well these tires ride and how quiet thay are.

I had a set of these on my 98 F150. Loved them. I would have transfered them to my 01 if the rim size was the same.

Very quiet ride with excellent traction. These are the first tire I would recommend to anyone with a truck.

Almost everyone you ask will tell you those are very good tires. I've never heard anyone complain too much except those who like a tire with an "agressive' look and tread pattern. Probably not the 'best' if there is any serious off roading involved, but that doesn't sound like its the case here. In any event, if he can stomach the pricetag (they ain't cheap), they will in all likelyhood be happy.

LTX M/S's are Damn GOOD !!! I've used them on a couple
of Diesel F-250's with great results.

BigRed (2001 4X4 Screw) was recently fitted with these
tires.

When I was getting prices on tires a couple weeks ago the tire dealer he didn't give me a quote on the Michelins but he told me about them and said every one he sold a set to was very happy with them.

Second set on my Expy. Wanted to go to bigger size to fit the 10" wheels. Gave first set to nephew. He thought they were brand new when actually the tires had over 20,000 miles. Beware! These tires are not cheap! You might want to shop around.

Good luck.

If you are looking for a more All Terrain type tread, you might want to consider the michelin xcx/apt which is the same tire as the michelin ltx/ at. Great tire!! We had some bad rain here the other day in austin texas and the difference between the stock general grabbers vs. the michelins is night and day. I paid 134 per tire, lifetime warranty and rotation, and a battery and i came out about 750. Both are great tires.

Just put a set of Michelin LTX M/S tires (P265/70R16) on my 98 Lariat. Very nice riding tire and quiet too. $699.84 out the door (with alignment & tax included). Two friends and my Dad (all pick-up truck owners) recommended that I spend the extra $ for the Michelins. I'd make the same recommendation.
