Tire Pressure Sensor Fault

I bought a new set of tires about 2 months ago and a few days later I started getting a "Tire Pressure Sensor Fault" warning. But the funny thing is that I ONLY get it when it's raining and only if I've been driving for about a half hour or more before it starts raining. By the next day the fault has cleared and doesn't come back until the next time that it starts raining after I drive a good bit. I always stop and check the tire pressure when I get the warning but the pressure is always near the top of the recommended range. This is the third set of tires that I've had on the (2010) truck and I don't recall this ever happening before I put on these tires but it's happened about five times in the last two months. Prior to putting on these tires I'd only seen this fault a very few times but I can't recall if it was raining or not. Any ideas?

Have you had the sensors rebuilt or new ones installed with the tires? There is a lithium battery in the unit that makes it work. Weak or dead battery gets you a light on the dash.

The batteries don't last forever.

My '07 had one of the batteries go bad about a year after I bought it brand new.

I've replaced two of the sensors but I don't think this has anything to do with their age.

I used to think that, but so far no TPMS lights on our '08 GT or the '07 F-150?

But if they do fail, I got ….. tape.
