Thumbs up Anyone seen these at a wheel dealer yet, dream pic inside!

I saw an ad for these rims in Street Rodder, in 17" through 20" sizes. I've been to several dealers and asked about them, and they all look at me and say huh?(while scratching their heads) I e-mailed American Racing and was told they are a new design, although they are the wheels that came on the Mustangs. They also said the price for the 18" in a 5x135, was $437 a wheel(OUCH!) I know this can't be right, because the 17" Stang wheels are everywhere for $175 a piece. They even sell the takeoffs at my dealer for that cheap. They are not on the ARE web site, either Can anybody help?,,,,98

Only one problem, those are the Mustang wheels if I'm not mistaken. They have a 5x41/2" inch bolt circle,,,98

Thanks for trying

No Way

No way AR is charging that much for them. I work at a Costco and I know we sell em' for much cheaper. It's called the "Torque Thrust D". Obviously, looks are a personal matter, just not my choice. Anyway, check out a local costco, perhaps better luck?

Hmmm.... AR calls them a CR-200, or something like that. The official "Torque Thrust D" Is a design that goes way back to the 50's, maybe early 60's. Those only come in sizes in up to 15" in diameter. These are 17" and up. and a different design. The spoke design is more modern looking, I think all they did is paint the centers of the new polished five spokes. The TTD has a rough cast center, kind of like sand blasted aluminum. Thanks for helping guys! I'm going to try another dealer tomm. maybe, and see if they can order them yet.,,,,98

I've always liked Colorado Customs' wheel designs. The Leadville and Slater are my favorites, but they are too expensive for me,,,,98

I have been looking for the exact same wheels since I saw them on a Bullit mustang. I have not found them either. Let us know where/if you find any.

Will do Someone in an earlier post made a reference to taste, The grey center just plain looks better with the Prairie Tan color,(IMO). For some reason, billet wheels just look out of place with it. I already got rid of the complete chrome front end, and hopefully I can find a painted rear bumper someday for under $400 These wheels have just the right amount of grey, and polished surfaces to blend in nicely. Don't get me wrong, highly polished wheels look great with any other color, just not tan(again, IMO),,,,98

Hey Screamer how go's it?

Just an FYI. Ford sells these wheels in the 2002 accessories book(ask the parts man to look at one at any dealership-Ford sent them to all dealers-I keep mine right on the counter for all customers to see). You can find the wheels on page 22 item #91B, the ford part # is YL3Z-1007-FA, these are 16" & includes the wheel cap and nuts. They are painted silver with no chrome on the wheel. You can also get them in 17".

The only thing I would think about is they are for the 2001 and 2002 F150's so that means 14mm studs not 12mm stud like on your 98.

I know they are not exact to what you have a pic of but it's the closest Ford has to the Mustang wheel for the F-150.

Matt

Screamer,

No such luck on the L, maybe for the next truck. I was thinking about looking for a used 99 L, but then no 4x4 for North Dakota winters. Then again, a L would have no problem pulling a 4 place snowmobile trailer in the mountins of Montana. It would just be tuff to load all the people with no supercab.

I did however upgrade to a 99 F150 4x4, 5.4, supercab XLT. Complete with a leaky head gasket, thank God for extened warrany. So far I have about 25 hours in to it(chip-straight pipes-FIPK-17" BFG A/T's-remote start). Don't you just hate trying to build the perfect truck. LOL

Beleave it or not the only thing I have to do now is wait for my new 2002 Ski-Doo Summit X 800 High Mark & pray for a lot of snow. The weather man is talking snow in the forcast for Sunday Morning. YEE HEE.

Later,

Matt

Screamer; With so much time on your hands, go to ebay.com. When you get there, click on smart search, then item #, then type in #596151633. If you can fit these (probably with wheel adapters), you will forever be in my debt!!! Good luck.
