Wanted-16" 5 lug spare wheel

I;m looking for someone in the Fort Worth Texas area that has a 16" 5 lug wheel to part with. This is for my spare so even the plain steel wheel is good. I never dreamed that this would be so hard to find. one with any kind of old tire is a plus . As i said I need a spare and in my experience good looking tires on the spare end up stolen. No tire necessary , I really would be happy just to find the wheel for a reasonable price.

You could go to just about any junkyard and get 1 wheel off a 97-03 F150. It does not even have to be a 16" as long as the final diameter of the tire is the same as your vehicles tires.

Spare Wheel

I have tried that route, salvage yards contacted so far being ridiculous, wanting $100 plus for a steel wheel. At their price I can get one new from ford.

I went through this when my spare tire cable broke and spare tire fell off somewhere. I ended up buying one on line that was identical to my factory spare wheel. It cost $50 with free shipping from a salvage yard in Texas (to Homestead, FL). It was true and round but the lip was bent some. I bent it back mostly with a pair of vise grips. Then a local tire shop mounted and balanced a good used tire for $20. Search the internet.
You would be surprised what Ford charges for a plain steel wheel, more than you guessed.
