315 70 r17

Hi I'm new but I've read a lot on here about what I want to do with my truck. I have an 04 f150 xlt screw 2wd with a 2.5" level and run 285 70 17 no problem on stock wheels. I want to run 315 70 r17 on my stock wheels and I've seen old postson here saying it can be done but others saying no way. I really would like to see if anyone has pic of those tires on stock rims with only a level on a 2wd and if its not possible or no one does it I'd like to know that too. Thanks for ur time and help in advance.

Depending on the tread pattern a mix of all those things.

So even with a bidy lift ut won't really cgange anything because its gona hit the piece that goes in between the two control arms. Can't think of the name of it off hand

The knuckle. Or it'll rub the control arm.

Yea the 285's are within a half an inch if the knuckle that's the only part I'm worried about. But a 305 would be fine I'm sure ?

295 would be a safer bet, but 305s are still really wide. 315/70/17 is not only wide, but 34.4" tall too. Your current tires are 32.7" tall. That's a big difference. Nothing much taller that is also wider is going to fit on a leveled 2wd with stock wheels. 295/60/20 mud tires (33.9") and 315/70/17 don't fit on even a leveled 4wd without wheels spacers (and these probably wouldn't fit on a 2wd with perfectly offset aftermarket wheels either). 285mm wide and ~33.5" tall is absolutely as high as I would go on a stock wheel for your truck. You CAN fit 275/65/20 (34.1" tall, and I know not your size wheel but it's for reference) on factory 20s on a 2wd, but they rub a little bit.

Mud tires MUST be smaller, ATs can be a little bigger, street tires can be the largest; The side lugs make all the difference, so it depends what tire type you're after. Keep in mind that the average 2wd is 2-2.5" lower than a 4wd.

I wouldn't mind rubbing at full lock ill just be careful. I just can't have them rub on the knuckle all the time
