Hello all!,
I've been wanting to upgrade my brakes since I purchased my truck and since it has a lift and large tires on it I would love a little extra stopping power for piece of mind. The first time I drove the truck with the lift on it I dang near drove through to the middle of the intersection! The rotors seem to be in decent condition still I.E. not warped or ground into.
My question being that if I want the added stopping power should I invest in some higher end pads or go for a different rotor as well? If so, on either side I would be open to any and all suggestions.

What about the EBC 7000 greenstuff pads I have not found any reviews on them but it mentions for 4x4 trucks and hauling trucks soooo maybe those would be good?? Any thoughts?
I have heard mixed reviews on EBC. Couple people hated their products and let the forums and EBC know it, others have had the GreenStuff pads for years and love them.
I just recommend a semi-metallic pad since they agree with stock rotors ( ceramics can eat into our chinese stock rotors ) and they keep dust down. I have had Hawk LTS pads on my truck for 2yrs 25k miles and they are thick and visibly there. I don't see a need to change them out for a very long time.
The braided stainless lines cost a bit but they eliminate the expansion that happens with our OEM rubber lines and will literally help you toss your passengers forward under braking.

Do the braided stainless brake lines really help that much? I upgraded to the slotted rotors and ceramic pads and got a good 40% more stopping power. Midas told me braided lines wouldn't do much.
I am a huge EBC 7000 GreenStuff fan. However, this is a subject where you need to do some homework and be honest with yourself. Great pads, fancy rotors, and the like may improve feel and feedback, but there are only three things that will truly improve the stopping power of the brakes; larger diameter rotors, performance calipers (larger pistons, multiple pistons, etc), and stainless braided brake lines. Sorry. I'm not saying fancy rotors and the expensive pads are not worth it, but for true, unadulterated stopping power, this and only this is where it's at.

Granded I have Powerslot rotors, my wheels remain clean and rotors non-eaten with semi-metallics, along with them lasting very long. 2yrs and hardly a few millimeters lost. I see ceramics a necessity for towing, but semi-metallics are just as good on a regular driven truck.
Agreed! My slotted rotors and Wagner TQ semi-metallic pads are working flawlessly. I even tow with mine. Not a spot on the rotors and somewhere between low and extremely low dust on the wheels. Still don't like the pads as good as my 7000's, but they are a better bang-for-the-buck.
Yeah I am more in the market for safety and reliability rather than clean wheels I was my truck on a regular basis i just want to be able to stop quickly and safely more than anything
