Question Rear Brakes on the 08

Took the caliper off and it was a little sticky but managed. I have been trying to remove the rotor on the passenger side without success. Tried penetrating oil and love taps. The rotors are worn and need to be replaced. Looking for ideas on getting this off. Is my E brake the issue? It is not engaged. Should I put it in neutral? ANY help will be welcomed.

Thanx everyone.

^ Correct, the e-brake adjusts just like any drum brake. Don't forget to readjust when you have the new rotor on.

Sorry, can't remember which way is loosen. Should not be too hard to figure out as it will start to move if you are loosening.

It was worth a shot. Do I dare ask how tight I should put it back at? Right now, the tire won't free spin even a few inches.

It really should not be tight as it is the emergency brake and should not rub. When tightening, I would get it to rub, then back off a bit until it doesn't. Then check the function of the e-brake to make sure it will hold.

I put the e-brake pedal down about half way and tighten the adjuster until it starts to drag pretty heavy. Then check the e-brake pedal to make sure it doesn't go all the way to the floor. Next release it and make sure the wheels spin free. Do both wheels at the same time because they need to be close to equal.

Don't know if that is the right way....but it works for me.

Good luck.
