Best tire and size for stock wheel?
Best tire and size for stock wheel?
I have a 2007 F150 Lariat Supercrew 4x4 with 2.5" level.
I'd like a 35" tire or something right there at it. My wheels are stock 20s(20x8 I believe).
Considering Toyo M/T, NItto M/T and the new Toyo AT2. The Toyo AT2 has a 55000 mile warranty and is a newly redesigned with a more aggressive look and is a good bit cheaper than the M/T tires.
Please let me know what size and tire you recommend.

I'm goin with the 285/75/18 toyo at2 when they come out(been in contact with toyo and tredepot and they say about a month) its a 35x11.5 and roughly 15lbs lighter then the 35x12.5x18 so i think the 275/65/20 which is the same just in a 20 would look good which is also 10-15lbs light than 35x12.5x20
And also equals out to a 34.6 inch tire. I rocked 275-65-20s for a with and i got better gas mileage with them but they wore like crap and lasted a little over a year and a half. Now have 35x12.5x20 and have had them for 2 years and still are in great condition.
The AT2 sounds like a good tire and being lighter and cheaper is nice, but I just don't think I can pass up the sweet look of the Toyo M/T..even though it will be primarily highway driven. That being said, i've heard the MTs do quite well on the highway with ride and wear. True statement?

Yes. My M/Ts are flat across and wear great. Toyo's are an arm and a leg. Try looking for Federal Coriega M/Ts got mine at a lot better price than what a lot of these M/Ts are going for any day.
Thanks sampson01, I'll take a look at those. So you are running 35x12.5/20 M/Ts on a leveled F-150? How is the fit? Have you experienced any rubbing issues? And how far does the wheel stick out(if any)? Thx.
Wow what a beast. You'll be at semi-truck driver height soon. Lol. I've read in numerous threads of people with leveled 150s like mine running true 35s so I don't think i'll have any issues.
As long as back spacing on the wheels (if your using aftermarket wheels) is very close to stock then you'll be fine. Might require some trimming of the lower valance but that's the least of your worries.
I decided to hold off on aftermarkets for a while. I'm keeping the stock 20s and throwing new shoes on those so I don't see any issues..and like you said, minor trimming(if its even needed) isn't going to be a big deal.
