33s or 35s?
33s or 35s?
I have a 2004 FX4 and I'm trying to decide whether to go with 33s or 35s. Currently I have 305/65/18 BFG's with a leveling kit on stock wheels. I am going to get some aftermarket wheels (probably XD Revolvers) and can't decide whether to stick with 33s or go up to 35s with a 3 inch lift (still with the level).
325/60/18, 305/70/17, or 325/65/18? (Nitto Terra or Dune Grapplers). Let me know what you think. I'd appreciate any input.
Also does anyone know if I will have rubbing with 35s and a 3" body lift and 2.5" level?

With 3.73 gears I don't think you would need a regear with 35s unless you tow a lot. I have 3.55s for now, but am regearing to 4.56 as I recently purchased a camper that weighs 6000 loaded. Had 33s, now have 315/70/17, about 34.5s.
If you go with 35's, you are gonna have to be extra careful on your wheel selection to prevent serious rubbing. The width and backspacing will have to be perfect.

I do like the size of the tires on there now (33.7x11.5X18)*. That's why I'm also looking at a 305/70/17 Nitto tire. I'm just not sure if I will like the look of a 17 inch wheel as much as the 18. Also I really like a wider tire. Like the 325/60/18 (33x13x18)* is going to be somewhat noticeably wider than a 305/70/17 (34x12.3x17)*. Still not sure what to do but I'm definitely not going to do 35s now.

A few year's back the 17's had more available sizes then the 18's I had as stocker's so I ditched the 18's and went with 17's. The tires were a lot cheaper too. Now I have the expensive 20's on my '11.
That's true, it would be cheaper to go with 17s. And I think it's a shame that the wheel sizes just keep getting bigger. That just makes tires so much more expensive. However, 20s do look great with the right wheel/tire combo.
