truck vibrates badly when i brake

when i brake at higher speeds, it feels like the whole front end of my truck shakes really bad. i just replace the front brake system and it keeps doing it. does anyone have an idea what this may be from? i drive an '04 150 with the 5.4.

When you say you 'replaced the front brake system', does that mean rotors and pads or that you just put pads on the truck?

Also, how many miles on the truck? You may have some worn front end parts.

I replaced the pad, calipers, and rotors. I was afraid it'd probably be worn parts since it has 103,000 miles.

There are a couple of special tools and you need some basic know how. It is not something I would attempt if I had never seen it done. It is certainly doable if you know the tricks. I would buy Moog parts if doing it myself.

You don't happen to live near DFW do you? Patman can do you a great job and save you some money if your close enough.

Here is a writeup on part of it. Also, you will need an alignment afterward.

well i took my truck in to have it looked at and all of my ball joints and stuff are ok. they said i need to replace what they called a front lower steering shaft. i can not find parts that look like what they showed me anywhere. Does anyone know maybe what they are talking about. Also i have a rear axle seal leaking onto my brakes and rotors, which is what they believe is causing the vibrations when breaking. Is it difficult to change axle seals and bearings or should i have them do it? any suggestions would be awesome. thanks
