No. That is an average of about 3 pounds per tire increase, so an extra 12 pounds total weight added to your truck. There's more weight in 2 gallons of milk than the difference between tires.

Also I was wondering did the 97 F150 4.2 come with 17" rims?

Sorry.

^^^ There is no way to know that without the exact tire model to use for weight data. Some carcasses can weigh more, the same or less than another model of equivalent size.

Also - it's not just static mass increase either - rotational inertia must be considered as well; it increases with the square of the speed.

Lastly - this results in a small, but measurable gear ratio increase.

All adds up - a 4.2 does not have a lot of power to spare, so I think you may notice some changes - in both response and mileage.

It could be possible. I'm not sure about that.

I looked at the BFG AT to get that number. I figured it's probably a good middle of the road tire for comparison. I figured that there wouldn't be a whole lot of difference between the two sizes, and I didn't realize that the 4.2 is as lacking as you say...5.4 all the way .

Like MGD say you'll probably feel some, especially if your one of those people who likes to kill it coming off the line.

265/75/16's look nice in the wheel wells but there will be a slight decrease in take-off performance. If you want more performance, change the rear end gears to 3.73 or 4.10.

The cherry bomb doesn't cut it sound wise because I didn't buy a really long bodied one (40"). I have a 20" and it is raspy in a bad way. I just purchased a Walker Dynomax Ultra Flo SISO stainless exhaust and will be installing it soon.
