chrome powdercoat?

Have any of you guys seen or have any wheels that have been done with the "Chrome" powdercoat? How does it compare in reflectivity, shinyness? I have a set of roush 20's that I love on my truck, just the peeling Chrome annoys me.... The local hot rod shop recommended I go to a company pretty close to home to get em powdercoated(he showed me some of the stuff they had done by them, it looks great, but nothing in Chrome pc) I would have to take off the flaking parts and blend the ridge(not a big deal). They will blast, clean, and pc them for me. He said it should be about $80-$100 a wheel, and for what I got em for, I'm fine with paying that.
So, whaddya think/know about it?
Thanks, Adam

I've seen it in person, If done correctly it looks like very shiny aluminum, if done poorly it looks like aluminum foil crumpled up. I've yet to see any that actually compares to chrome. And If you get it done be prepared to get them cleared after you coat them because I've been told this powder-coat will oxidize and dull. Hope this helps.

Thanks, I knew about the clear coat, not how it compares. Just lookin thru my options cuz I Really like these wheels, just not enough to spend $400 a piece for new ones...

Find a place that rechromes them. In a few years I'm going to have my Roush wheels re done. They look very good right now, but I want them perfect. A bunch of the L guys run "chromies" so there are places that can do it for sure.

i've done a bit of reading on this over the last few days and have seen a wide range of looks. anywhere from really nice polished aluminum to a hyper silver like G35 wheels. I plan to do some rashed raptors in it and it should work for what i want no matter how it turns out. i wouldn't risk it though if i wanted a chrome look. I'll post pics if i get them back in the next week or so.

i havent found anywhere in my state that does it. not really sure if its worth what some of the out of state places are asking. plus, for some reason i really like the oem chrome clads 20's from the expy el's, especially since i can run em year round without worrying about peeling chrome. but dang my truck looks good with these on it! i hate being so indecisive!

and onebadcrew, i would love to see the wheels with the chrome pc done!

heres a pic i took of my truck cleaned up with these wheels on it (crappy cell phone pic):

Per request, here they are.

As I expected, they fell outside of what I was told they'd look like. Even when they called for me to pick them up, they still insisted they looked like polished aluminum. In reality, they look like the aluminum bezel on an iphone4 if it was glossy. Polished aluminum is so close to chrome that it's just a really bad way of describing the color. OEM bright silver is a more accurate color for what i got. I have seen some others post higher quality chrome looking PC but mine turned out exactly like I expected. Are they what I wanted? Maybe not, but we can all dream right? I'll run 'em. Sure won't have to worry about my truck having a twin.

I would say machined aluminum, not polished. They still look great though.

$300 which is pretty standard for the two step processes. A normal one step job is about 200. if you ask some local wheel specialists you might find a shop that does more wheels and is able to get exactly what you want.
