BFG no more?
Tires
I don't have any experience with those tires, but one thing does strike me as odd. Only times I've seen treads wear out in the middle without having some mechanical issue was due to one of two issues. Either the tires are over-inflated or the tires are too wide for the rims. If all your tires are exhibiting the same issue, then I'd bet the rim width first then tire pressure.
Just some thoughts.

Not saying that dealerships don't mess up, but I'm running four BFG LTR P255/6517s, which is the stock tire and I got this set from my local dealership at 40K. I'm currently at 81K. I get the tires rotated every 4-5K at the same dealership so I expect them to know proper pressure, etc.
Sorry for the double post, got cut short. Was just gonna say that I think it is a case of the dealership trying to sell more rubber rather than the tire being the wrong width.
Decided to go with the BFG Long Trails again, just won't go back to the dealership for maintenance. After a careful tug of war between the dealer and my local tire retailer I got the total down to $817.00 mounted and balanced, with free rotations for the life of the tires.
Sorry, AT KO and Nitto fans but this is $300 cheaper than the best deal for those...but I plan on holding onto this truck for quite a few more years so there will be time to try other setups out
