Great looking tires, Krohbar.

I'm actually looking at new tires and trying to decide. I'm currently running Long Trail Radial 17s that are falling apart after 35,000 miles. On my '04 Heritage the same tires (16s) ran 60K with little treadwear but the middle row of tread on these are GONE. The rest of the tire has little wear--I'm blaming overinflation from the dealership.

Does anyone else run these Coopers, and if so are they comparable to the ride and treadwear of my BFGs? Like the LTR but I'm hearing alot of good about these Discoverer tires.....

I hear they re-made the long trails, but these look sexy IMO

Blu,

I'm running LTRs on my 08 STX, and I would say I bought them 2 years ago max. Have they redone them since then? If so, I might look into them again. But you are right, Kro's tires look great.

Excuse me, I guess it wasn't the long trails, it was these- http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/tire-...a/tire-details

The Rugged Terrains look much better than the Rugged Trails, and certainly the Long Trails. I still like the T/A's though.

These new Cooper Discoverer AT3 Are impressive looking

2001 F150 offroad
I have a set Copper AT3 sitting in my garage waiting to be installed. I am currently running BF's AT/KO 265/70/17. These new tires are much more aggressive although I will never complain about the AT/KO since I have 90,000 on them. The AT3 are 275/70/17.
I am heading to Northern Ontario in a few weeks fishing and will be able to give you a good review of these new Cooper AT3. I will be pulling a boat 1600mi round trip. The last part of our destination is a 50mi logging road in which we cross several rivers mudholes and climb bare rock to get to the lake. It is wicked country and am curious to see how they hold up. Tow chains and winches are usually needed for this trip so lets see if Cooper came up with a new winner.

Here is what I am looking for:
Road noise 45-75mph (humm)
Wet traction
Mudd traction and lugg clearablility(These AT3 have much wider lugg patterns than the AT/KO)
Rock traction uphill and downhill
Tire wear (the AT/KO wear like Iron)
Throwing Stones(These are wide lugged and am wondering if my boat is going to get pelted the entire way.)
Ride (they are Load C and am curious if I can run my usual 48-50PSI or will the washboard road areas make me deflate some.

If anyone is interested I will post back after the second week in July

<<<GET OUTDOORS>>>

So, far, about 500 miles on them, mostly interstate. No noticeable hum, my maganaflow siso is louder. Good corner traction, a few rain storms, and good traction there. no off-road stuff yet. All in all, so far, so good.
