Thanks! Assuming you keep your backspacing and offset within reason and use some keys to crank your torsion bars, the 33s on 18x9s should be fine. A 3-inch body lift would be a good solution if you don't mind seeing some frame and relocating the bumpers (check out Performance Accessories as their kits are pretty complete and very good quality - I used the PA body lift on a couple of Tahoes and it worked out great to fit some 33s with wider wheels). But either way, you don't need a suspension lift unless you want to go higher (4-6 inches) to mount some 35s or do what Wandell did with cranking the torsion bars with a body lift to fit the 35s.

Heres a question. It may be stupid but I'm just making sure. Will a 33x12.5x18 tire fit without rubbing on a 2.5 leveled 06? I know the 33 diamator is not a problem. But what about the 12.5" wide tire? It just doesn't seem like there's enought room behind my stock tires for an extra inch or so. My current tire size is 275/65/r18 and I'm on the stock rims. Can someone please help me.

I think that 295/70/18 is a better size with stock wheels and level. Some members are running stock king ranch 18s with that size and it looks great. They are roughly 34 inch. If u want 33s I would go with 285/65/18. Will the 12.5 inch rub on stock wheels I am not sure. What I do know is that although some on here run that wide of tire on stock wheels, most manufactures recommend minimum of 8.5 inch width and the stockers are usually 7.5 or 8. The 20s are wider.
Here's mdhawkins with 295/70/18.

Ok thanks man. That size is fine with me. I've been considering some tires like the trail grappler and they do come in that size

dDawg, I have a couple questions for you regarding these two that I hope can benefit many here deciding on what to do for tire upgrade:

1) describe the change in ride quality between stock, level, and lift?
2) Difference in backspace between the two and your thought between the two wheels
3) either of these wheels clear coated? Easy to keep clean?
4) your impressions of the highway ride quality between stock tires, BFG ats, and BFG mt?
5) corrected mileage between stock setup, levelled, lifted?
6) your opinion if 33s might have fit without the level?

I know thats a lot of questions but the answers could be enormously valuable to many...

THanks!

Answer to number 6 is yes they will with proper offset and bs. Here's mine pre level with 285/70/17. Pretty sure I could have fit 295/70/17 with very minimal rubbing. Wheel specs are 17x8 with +25 mm offset and 5.43 inches of bs. No rub at all. See profile for pics after level if interested. And for number 5 an aftermarket programmer will be able to correct that.

I know the truck speed and odometer can be corrected I'm interested in an odometer corrected change to fuel mileage after the wheel/tire change (if its known). Too many people report losing Xmph and didn't correct their speed/odometer or at least take the tire size change into consideration when making the calculation.

From D-Dawg's link above:
33-inch BFG All Terrain KOs mounted on 18-inch Eagle Series 197 Wheels

I looked into these wheels and looks like they only come in 9" wheel with 4.5" backspace, so there you have it! Those are aftermarket flairs so I'm sure it has a nice wide stance with the backspace compared to stock. And to DDawg's credit, that is a great picture!

That depends on what size u end up going with. Obviously the bigger the tire, the more negatively it will affect mileage. Larger diameter and heavier. Also have heard that mud terrains will drop it as well. I just averaged 15.2 on my last fill up with the 32.8 inch diameter of the tires versus the stock 31s. I got about the same with stock tires before mods. I added intake, exhaust and programmer which helped with mileage and I drive pretty mild. 3.55 gears. I would say u will lose 1 mpg or so if u go from stock to 33s.
