New Truck

hey im new to the whole truck thing, always been been into hotrods and things like that but just sold my last one. i just bought a 2000 f150 extended cab 2x4 and am really wanting to upgrade the truck because everything is stock on it. but i am not sure of where to start. im not wanting to invest a small fortune into it and dont want a huge monster truck. so im looking for some guidance on what size lift and type for the truck as well as tire size for a good looking truck or any other suggestions as well. thanks

I'd suggest a 7.5 inch Fabtech and some 35x12.50 tires on an 8 inch wide wheel.

if your in the lakeland area. i'm in auburndale and i own and have done many lifts over the years. a body lift would suit your truck just fine and clears 33's no problem. it would really make the truck look great

the body lift is only going to lift the body (like the name implys) then you will have gaps between the bumpers and have to buy parts to cover them. IMO 6" suspinsion lift with 35's. I think it gives the truck a beefy bad a$$ look. Its a little more expensive that way but i think you'll find its worth it. Hawkin may have a point about lowering it though. I really dont see the point in lifting a 2wd but its your truck so the call is yours!

no you will not have gaps. the kit comes with bumper brackets to lift the bumpers. the only way you will be able to tell is the gap between the bed and the frame

wrong. they come with the kit.

how big of a tire do you want to run? how much do you want to spend? you should figure this out first.

griff d im acutlly in pc not far from there and what do u mean by the gap of the frame and the bed? is it a noticeable gap? and like i said im not looking to take this through the mud or anything i just prefer the look of lifted trucks instead of lowered and this truck is going to be my DD and want something that looks nice.
as for tire size i really am not sure on i guess im really between 33's n 35's but im guessing with a body lift biggest i can squeeze in is 33's. i have to get one dent pulled out from a flat tire for around 500 here this week so i dont want to through too much money in it. but with craigslist buyn used rims n tires lookin round 400-1000 and lift really dont want to come off too much as well. ive looked as suspension lifts and their upwards of a grand and more where BL are only couple hundred.

Its really not that noticeable. i mean they sell gap guards with the lifts that cover the gap and you can't even tell. imo the body lift is the best way to go if you are street riding. i have ran them on many trucks and installed them on many also,
