35x12.5 on stock 18's?

Who is running 35x12.5 on stock 18's? discount tire is telling not to do it bc of tire will mushroom and could have side wall issues. Anyone with experience please give me some advice. Thanks. My other option is running 285/75x18 (34.8x11.2). Also any pics will greatly help.

With a leveling kit you can run them, but you will probably experience a little rubbing depending on the tire (make/model?). The mushroom affect is due to the wheel only being 7.5" wide. If you do not mind a little narrower wheel, you would have better fitment out of the 285/75/18.

For the record many people are running 35/12.50 on stock 18s with little to no problems. If thats what you want go for it. Search tool will turn up many pictures.

There are pics in my gallery of my truck running 295/70/18 stock wheels.

Should have stated that I gave a 6" skyjacker lift kit that arrived yesterday.

I have seen alot of guys on here running 35x12.5 on stock 18's with no problems, but there are a few factors you need to take into consideration

1) 4x4 or 2wd
2) leveling kit or stock
3) which tires you want to run

You can get 35x12.5 on stock wheels if you have a 4x4 with at least a 2" leveling kit with minimal rubbing at full steering lock with a not so aggressive tire.

i purchased nitto mud grapplers and they would not work on my 07 fx4 with 2.5" leveling kit because the sidewall tread is so aggressive they were hitting (not rubbing) my upper a-arms.

So i purchased a set of 18x9 ultra wheels with a +25 offset from factory and i had to do minimal trimming (i.e. the bottom corner of the lower valance and the inner plastic fender about 4" up form the bottom of the fender) and as i still rub a little at full lock it is tolerable.

What truck do you have and is it leveled of lifted and what tires are you thinking about running.

With that said, if you can afford it I would get different wheels to alleviate all your fitment issues and go with the 35x12.50s

Are you able to run factory wheels with that lift? I know some manufacturer recommend a certain backspacing of wheel....might check on that.

yea dude you can run 35's easily, i would upgrade wheels though.....for an extra 800 to 1200 bucks you can get a nice set of 18s that would compliment that skyjacker kit very nicely

I can afford new rims I just like my stock ones (have the chrome package). Going to run 1.5" adapters to kick them out a little.

With the skyjacker kit you can run stock rims.
