Congrats man.. Truck looks real nice...
Just goes to show you can't believe everything you hear. You just gotta try it and find out.. Looks way better than 33's.. |
If I would have gone 2 1/2" on mine and the proportions followed suit, I would have been sitting dead level to nose high.. and I had a 3 1/4" rake to begin with.

dumb it down a bit for me. when u say "rake", do u mean the difference in height from the front end as to the back end? because right now when i measure from the top of the wheel well to the ground, my difference is at 3 1/4"
You need to take your measurements right at the centers of the wheels/tires between the fender and the ground. |

im willing to bet that your tires aren't true 35's. also they don't have a very aggressive sidewall is why they don't scrub. there are too many members that have done this and have had to trim a lot for your op to be true.
|
Allright, let me ask a question.I found a great deal on some like new 18x9 ballistic jesters for my truck, so I bought them.I got them home and found out they had 5.5" inches of backspacing.I'm ordering an AS 2.5 and 3" rear block.I want to run 285/75/18 (35/11.5) toyo open country AT'S.I don't mind trimming the valance but I ain't all about butchering my baby all up.I have a guy wanting to trade me some chrome lariats plus a little cash for them (I know they will fit with that size tire) but I really want to run my black wheels.Do you think the 5.5 backspacing is gonna mess me up?

Thanks! I was terrified that the 5.5 was gonna mess me up.....But I don't do any hardcore wheelin so I figured the less aggressive tread of the all terrian would minimize the rubbing. As far as the 3" block goes,I want to keep a little rake so when I pull a trailer my truck doesn't look like its doin a wheelie, lol.Plus, did you see this thread https://www.f150online.com/forums/wh...ed-w-pics.html His truck looks perfect IMO!! thanks for your input!!!!!

If you dont want your rear to sag when towing you can put the over load helper springs that just bolt on. I pull a 32 ft alumilite camper with mine. Then you wouldn't have a goofy looking jacked up rear end. :beers:
|
Yeah, but the rear block is gonna help me keep the ride closer to stock than another leaf.I drive a bumpy ass tow truck 15 hours a day and when I jump in my pick up it better ride decent or its gonna get found in a lake somewhere along the ride home, lol!!!!

you do realize they are probably only about 33.5-34" tall on your truck, and most likely not 35" from factory though right. although in general still a 35.

How much you willing to bet? Let me save you some money cause they are 35/12.50/18's with a very aggresive side wall so your wrong as well:coffee:
http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/n...e/2022b95c.jpg Please read the side wall ...... http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/n...e/ee2739fd.jpg the size on the sidewall, and the advertised size on the website, magazine, etc. that you saw it on, is false about 75% of the time. Most tires have an overall diameter that is smaller than the advertised size. most 35's are about 34.8" or somethin like that, sometimes even more than 35". I've seen a 36" tire that was actually 36.8", so basically a 37" tire. same stuff goes with the width. They usually are never the advertised size. and your sidewall isn't that aggressive. go look at a ss bogger and tell me whats aggressive. |
