You have 17x9 wheels but do you know the offset or the backspacing of the wheels?

Im not sure how your truck is built, but if its anything like my last two f150s there it is built with some kind of sheet metal. on the rear fender well closest to the door. 06 f150 has also installed 35's on his truck with the same offsets as OP and if you look at his pics you will see the he cut metal, actually a 9"wheel not 10.... So when you guys are saying its just a little trim job, sure it is........but for some because they are all a little different, are going to have to hack on there truck. guys are going to be gettin 35 inch tires now because two of you have done this and claim to do no trimming or just minor trimming with large negative offset wheels. Just because you dont mind cutting up your truck, doesnt mean others dont. I mean i could level mine and with enough cutting of a torch fit 37 probably.

I know every truck sits a little different. Some trimming may vary. I didnt have to trim anything but plastic. But if I did need to cut into some metal where it's NEVER seen I would do it. Then get some Rustoleum spray on bedliner and coat the exposed metal. It will never rust with that stuff. Here again its not brain surgery.

I don't understand how any wheel with a 35 inch tire would cause you to cut sheet metal. I've been putting lifts on trucks going on 5 years now and I've never had to cut sheet metal on any 04+ f150 for 35's... I even did a set of 35x12.5x20 Toyo MTs on a set of stock 20" f150 wheels on a non leveled 2wd king ranch. I had to cut a semi circle in the plastic at the back of the fender and a small bit from the front valance, but other than that, not a single rub from anything.I guess to each his own.

I have yet to hit any serious trails and I already know that I will rub if I try and turn in full compression. I had a 76 Blazer with 6" of lift and 35's and I tore up the back of my quarter panel big time when I was doing serious off roading. That was with a D60 up front with 6" TC springs too. I would be willing to bet that most trucks with 35's and a leveling kit that don't get off road a lot could make it work. I would bet though that any of these trucks that try a good canyon crawl are going to tear their tires and fender wells up a bit. I am just hoping I don't have to trim too much now even with my lift. Of course I won't be doing anything really extreme in my 07, I have a 78 F150 that I am building for the serious stuff.
You am willing to bet that you are rubbing not due to hight but because of width. Also to touch on what everyone else has been saying, I am running 295x70xR18, about a 34.5x12.0, most 35x12.50s i have looked at are more around 34.5x13.5-35.8x13.8, so witht that beeing said most 35x12.50s arnt realy 35 inches by 12.5 inches.

of course not on stock...or anything close to stock.. i ran 35's with my last two trucks with leveling kits only. but my backspacing wes just right to be able to do it

that's what i was trying to get across. i wasn't calling the op or the other guy liars i actually think their trucks look great and if they don't have any problems then that's great.

i've just seen though how bad some people have had to cut up under their trucks to fit 35's on aftermarket wheels with a leveling kit. i've seen pictures in one thread, can't remember where on here, of a guy doing this and showing all you had to trim. he turned his wheel to full lock and it wouldn't even go to full lock before it hit the back of his wheel well. he cut a lot to make them fit. from what i understand its not the front thats the problem mostly just the rear of the wheel well.

if it works for you guys thats great though.

Yeah. The rear is the biggest problem. The inside of the rear to be exact. Glad we could settle this like gentleman. Sorry to the OP for threadjacking. Atleast we don't drive chevys and need a mile of lift for baby tires. haha. My brothers 2002 Z71 needed 4 inches and 35's just to sit as high as my 08 2wd did on 35's and a 2.5 level... Haha. He was so POed the day I did that.

yeah no need to argue, it's just the internet . oh yeah i know exactly what you're talking about with the chevys. those square fender wells really weren't made for bigger tires.

My old boss (a lifelong chevy driver) used to say "if ford ever did one thing right, it's put round fenders where round tires go."
