Yeah that's a tough one.. I don't know what i would choose either.. But since you are waiting to buy, You should get some good feedback on this forum to help you decide.

That red and black truck is nice. Since you are thinking about lifting, the 5.0 or EB is a good question. I would think 5.0 since it is more of a known commodity and I haven't heard any real life experience about how the EB works with a lift. Have you looked into it yet?

I have been thinking much along the same lines, just go ahead with the tried and true V8 power, I'll take a hit in mpgs either way so that wasn't much of a factor I guess. One that could keep mpgs up (15-18 maybe) and run a 35-37" tire would be great but I don't think that will ever happen. I worry about really draining the EB with large tires and thus requiring custom tunes and potential warranty loss on the motor, something I'd like to avoid for a while since I got jipped on the 05 injectors.

When it gets closer to buying time I'll really try to pit them head to head. I was thuroughly impressed with the EB at the drive event, but most of the discussion centers on the mileage or modding the he'll out of the motor. I'm not one who really tears into engine/trans performance modifications, I prefer astetics myself. I have no issues with the umph my 05 5.4 puts out, however I do look forward to getting some more power from the new motors, whichever I end up with.

What do you think about the issue of lifting with either motor colonel?

I'll check them out when its time, but I'm with you in that there is a greater chance of busting the warranty by going with the EB. The unknown if the additional stress of a lift and at least 35s on the new engine (EB), which admittedly, sounds delicate (intricate) with the turbo and all. Then add a regear, or worse not, and that could just compound the problems. An engine designed to be efficient is now trying like hell to push more mass and fight against more resistance? I don't know. I definitely trend towards the 5.0 at this point.
