Tire Help

I am looking for new tires for my 2001 Expedition. Here's kind of what I'm looking for in the tire-
1: Something for getting me to hunting stands
2: In the summer, I do a lot of boat hauling so something with that has a good load range.
3: Something that is also good in the snow.
4: Also fit on the stock rim, the stock tire size is 265/70/17
5: Under $200 per tire.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thank You

I'd suggest a quality all terrian tire like the BFG AT KO, Nitto Terra Grappler, Toyo AT, **** Cepek FC II, Pro Comp Xtreme AT or Mickey Thompson ATZ. As for size, I'd go with a 285/70-17.

Will it the 285/70/17 fit without a lift? Also would there be any rubbing issues?

285s should fit fine. I had them on my Expedition on stock sport wheel with no issue.

If you have a 4x4, they will fit easily. If you have a 4x2, they will fit using the OEM wheels but it will be really tight.

Might want to take a look at the Goodyear Wrangler Dura Trac's or the Firestone Destination AT's as well.

Ok, Thank you for your help. A locale tire shop has some nitto's that someone order and never came back for so they will sell them to me at cost. Does anyone know if 295/70/17 will have rubbing issues?

Which engine is in your expy? Gears? If your boat is really heavy I would think twice about really large tires

I have the 5.4 and i think 3.73 gearing not positive tho. The boat is a 18ft bow rider and the longest distance is maybe 200 miles with a stop in the middle, so i don't think it would be a big deal. Otherwise its about 15 miles every weekend.
