yea man, my situation was i ordered a set of EBC Dimpled & Slotted 3GD rotors (front & rear) & a set of the EBC Ultimax pads from autopartsdealer.com. Their site said I was ordering the correct part # and it'd fit a 2002 2wd Ford F150...it won't, the fronts would only fit a 4wd F150. So I tried to just return the product, 1) pay return shipping 2) pay like a 15% restocking fee 3) pay a difference in the cost of the shipping to get it to my place because they were running a promotion and promotional prices had some kinda BS policy. So i've been stuck with em for months. Nobody would buy em on my local craigslist and nobody wanted em on here..

So I emailed Mr. Freeman the other day and told him about my situation just to see if there was anything he could do, not thinking there was much he could. To my surprise, those guys are fixing EVERYTHING for me. Not only is he sending me the correct parts, he's sending all new correct front & rear rotors (although none of these have ever been mounted) and even upgraded me to the EBC Greenstuff pads. I would've been fine with that, and mailing the old ones back.. but on top of all that they even sent a call tag for the products I had and UPS just picks em up.. no cost to me.

Now if that isn't 100% awesome customer service, i don't know what is..
Thats great im glad they took care of you its good to hear some companys still take care of there customers .. Customer service has gone to the wayside in this country..

Andy. I will look for the multiple email correspondence between myself and your 30 yr expert that informed me I did not know what I am doing and how much he hated dealing with people like me that don't know what they are doing.

Even after replacing the front and rear greenstuff with yellowstuff (note - your warranty rep would only replace the front pads but the contact at your Sylmar facility was nice enough to replace front and rear when I personally picked them up Sylmar). I commented to the warranty rep that the rotors were warped and blued with the greenstuff as shown in my photos, the rep said it was normal and not a problem and the bedding compound would eliminate this issue. After the yellow stuff pads were on for some very short time your rep then later told me to have pep boys turn the front rotors on the truck as my truck had an alignment / run-in issue. I had Pep Boys turn the rotors as recommended (of coarse at my expense), the problem returned within 500 miles. After I replied to your warranty rep. after pep boys worked on my truck (which i personally would never have done on my own), I sent your rep another email regarding this issue, got a line of crap and then never received an email back.

For this reason I wrote this thread as I was obviously unable to get beyond your 30 yr expert. Believe me, I too was like the pro EBC users commenting on this thread and based on my off road motorcycle experience and a passion for using what I thought the best product on the market, I invested in EBC. Unfortunately that was a year ago and the other brakes are still holding up, even after about a year and over 70k miles.

Nice, I just ordered yellow and green pads for my truck. Green for my acura, and yellow/red for my cobalt.

Andy, it turns out you were the person I was in contact with. Here is just one of your statements to me:

It is unfortunate that because a large Company has a name like Galpin Ford that they are credited with knowing even the first thing about brakes.

I really don't have the time to reinvent the wheel every time an amateur mechanic wants to second guess me. I know what I am doing, I am a degree engineer with 38 years experience in brakes alone and sales of over 120 million sets of brake under my belt.I have never lost a customer yet and never been proved wrong by a wrench man who is tuned to one frequency of work on one make of vehicle.

I have only one more question

What do you want EBC Brakes to do to make you happy???

Kind regards Andy

1) Its a shame that when a consumer gets a problem they start a negative thread instead of contacting the manufacturer. We are REAL easy to find with warranty@ebcbrakes.com and every one of those e mails comes to my desk, about THREE a month.

2) We have the best record on this planet in taking care of customers in the brake business bar none.

3) We sell over 8 million brake sets a year including about 500,000 for trucks. The size of the pad goes up with the vehicle size so you cannot say our pads are good for Mini Coopers only and if someone is trying to fit a Mini brake to a truck then we can all laugh.

4) You comment about only positive comments on our website and I will tell you why. We DO GET a few customer issues, and in EVERY CASE we either warranty the parts and in all cases show the customer what they have done wrong and they ALL GO AWAY AS HAPPY CAMPERS. We are not so unprofessional and ignorant to just post a negative comment on our website and bury our heads, we take care of the problems, we learn and respond and we move on and the customer is happy.

5) Please check where all the other famous brands you quote are made my friend, ours are 100% made in the UK, I wonder what they will all say.

Now please e mail me at andy@ebcbrakes.com and lets discuss your problem

Thanks
Andy
Hello Andy:
I just upgraded my 2004 F150 FX4 from 17" wheels to 20" and I'm now looking to do a brake upgrade and I'm seriously considering EBC rotors and pads at all 4 corners.

Two questions for you before I buy your product:

1) did you really intend to write " . . . and in all cases show the customer what they have done wrong . . .", or did you intend something else?

2) did you/EBC ever take care of the orignal poster? Judging from the latest post, it doesn't look like it.

Considering that your product is about $2000+ less expensive than other brake kits that I have reviewed, I do hope that we can do business.

Looking forward to your response.

Best regards,
Matt

FYI for all . . . I received a prompt reply from Andy Freeman at EBC Brakes about an hour and a half after I emailed him directly.

As one would expect, Andy seems extremely proud of his company's product and customer service. Additionally he seems reasonable enough, and is clearly easy to get in touch with.

I'd rather spend less than $1000 for my brake upgrade, so I fullly expect I will be ordering EBC brakes for my truck rather than a $4000 or $5000 big brake kit from one of the other companies.

Matt

I have EBC greenstuff on my truck, with bear eradispeed rotors up front and decelarotors on the back. no issue with the pads at all. and I've abused them. the ONLY problem I've ever had was when I was doing about 120 an hit the brakes really hard... the truck pulled to the right. only because I let the truck sit for weeks at a time and the rotors rust up and I dont drive it enough to clean them off. I did have a sqeaky pad once when I was driving the truck daily... just had to get the brakes nice and hot and rebed them.. no squeaks now. youd be suprised how much better the brakes grip once they have some heat in em

If you don't mind, would you please advise why you went with the Baer EradiSpeed rotors over the EBC rotors? I'm still researching for my brake upgrade and am curious.
Thanks,
Matt

I wanted a big brake kit to fill out my rims and stop a little better. but couldn't justify spending $3000 on brakes for a truck I drive once a week thats nowhere close to being a sportscar. the eradispeed rotors are the same 15" rotors bear uses with the extreme kit. so you get the big brake look without the cost. they look cool but honestly unless you have 22's and extra cash burning a hole in your pocket the stock sized rotors are just fine

I never did receive a reply to the last paragraph 70F250

Is that ever going to come, If you would like to e mail me directly at andy@ebcbrakes.com I would be delighted to work with you and sort out your needs.

In the meantime EBC is getting some nice reviews on heavier US vehicles, check this link that shows a Navigator stopping 40 yards quicker with EBC yellowstuff Pads.

http://www.ebcbrakesblog.com/2011/10...-sport-rotors/

Independent Magazinbe report here !!

And if you think we cannot stop an F 150 fast, look at this report from Randy Merritt Racing !!!!!!

http://www.ebcbrakesblog.com/2011/10...-has-been-usi/

For those of you asking (IMHO) ....Oversize brake kits are fine but theyre expensive, they take time to fit and 99% of people dont need them, most need just a high friction pad like EBC Yellows and maybe sport rotors if there is cash left.

Thanks Andy

Mr. Freeman. I did reply to your last statement in an email and asked you to replace all four rotors and Yellowstuff pads. It was I that never heard a word back from you.

You obviously knew there was an issue with the Greenstuff pads since my first internet post on your website and quickly replaced only the front with Yellowstuff but your warehouse clerk knew better and replaced front and rear. The real issue is the Greenstuff pads damaged the rotors and you would not stand behind you product and replace the rotors as well. Furthermore only to have me take my truck to Pep Boys and have them turn the rotors after it was too late and then basically tell me I am an ignorant amateur mechanic and so was Galpin Ford. Yes I was stupid for listening to your "guaranteed fix" by spending even more money at Pep Boys..

I am curious what Randy Merritt Racing would say after 10K miles of street driving with Greenstuff pads and not Yellowstuff pads and what the rotors would look like? You still have failed in addressing the use of your Greenstuff pads..

It appears my thread has opened your eyes to customer service and it now appears with this thread it has helped not me but others as I sincerely hoped it would.

EBC Issues

I used the EBC slotted & dimpled rotors along with the Yellowstuff pads on all corners of my wife's 2008 Ford Edge. Those brakes were very pricey, but I figured you get what you pay for. The brakes significantly reduced the stopping distance of my wifes Edge. I was nothing short of amazed and was very satisfied! That is until we put on about 20,000 miles in about 8 months.

At that point, the slots and dimples were ground off to the point that only an outline remained where they once were, and the rotors began to vibrate upon braking. We drive 80% highway and 20% country roads with very little braking. I am disappointed in the longjevity of the rotors. The representative from "The Place for Brakes" told me that it was good to get that many miles out of them, because of the "road salt" that we have on the roads for two months of the year. I don't expect anything from EBC regarding my issues, but would like this message to serve as a warning.

I still am using the EBC pads and am happy with them. However, I replaced all 4 rotors with the cheap Autozone brand rotors with a free two year replacement warranty. I think that I bought something like 3 rotors for the price of one EBC dotted and slotted rotor. We have seven months of driving on these rotors, and they still feel and appear brand new.

Be warned especially if you live in the northern part of the U.S.
