EBC Junk 3K Miles Greenstuff on 2008 F150 Supercrew 4x4

?action=view&current=2008F150GreenstuffSurfaceCracking.jpg#!oZZ1QQcurrentZZhttp%3A%2.jpg%26

FYI Rotors were later turned by PEP Boys per EBC Technical rep with 30 years experience. PEP Boys could not save them. $250 in the trash.. There were no issues with installation of Greenjunk pads. Now running Raybestos w/ stock rotors and no problems what so ever.

ive' got greenstuff 7000 ( i think) on the front of my 05 scab , on stock rotors, for about 1500 miles, and they stop great BUT i am very dissapointed at the BLACK dust. I may put the Hawks back on or the Thermoquiets. I think EBC is overrated. And i shelled out $105 for these. I can clean the wheels and after 100 miles , i wipe my finger across the alloy wheel opening and i cant believe it. I do think its worse than factory pads. ok I'm thru venting. rossford....

WHAT?? Are you really really sure you have 7000's??? Cause I have them (have had them on two different trucks) and they are about as close to ZERO brake dust as you can get. Did you purchase and install them yourself?? Ask around on here of people that do have the 7000's and they'll repeat my comments.

I ask because I've had other (non GreenStuff/7000) EBC pads and you were right, they were horrible...but not these. In fact, I'm sooo adamant about how low dust these are, I think the price justifies that quality.

Hopefully people on this site are smart enough not to base their opinions off of one persons bad experience. I have had EBC slotted and dimpled rotors and greenstuff pads on my 04 FX4 for about 4 years now. They stop way better than stock, have almost no dust, and are very reasonably priced. I have never had any other brake pads last this long either. From the looks of it there are far more people here that have had good luck with these than bad. As for the OP, it sucks you had to go through that.

EBC Brakes response to this negative post

A 30 yr experience EBC rep informed me that the Yellowstuff pads would cure the problem and I would be amazed on how well they would perform. I discussed the issue with the blued rotors and he said the break-in compound would remove the blued hardened spots. What a joke.. After another 4000 miles the rotors were even worse and the 30 yr master of brakes told me to have the brakes turned at Pep Boys as they were experts. I had the expensive rotors turned after only 6000 miles and the problem returned within 500 miles.

EBC would not make good on replacing the rotors and pads. Next time I will stay with US made/brand pads like wagner, raybestos, bendix, or OEM. Even if they are made in china, they have to be better than the garbage made by EBC. I have discussed EBC with my local parts distributors they also tried on their corvettes, etc. and agree EBC may be ok on Mini Coopers, but not full size trucks or high performance cars.

Hi There

This is Andy Freeman the owner of EBC Brakes. This came to my attention and I would like to respond

1) Its a shame that when a consumer gets a problem they start a negative thread instead of contacting the manufacturer. We are REAL easy to find with warranty@ebcbrakes.com and every one of those e mails comes to my desk, about THREE a month.

2) We have the best record on this planet in taking care of customers in the brake business bar none.

3) We sell over 8 million brake sets a year including about 500,000 for trucks. The size of the pad goes up with the vehicle size so you cannot say our pads are good for Mini Coopers only and if someone is trying to fit a Mini brake to a truck then we can all laugh.

4) You comment about only positive comments on our website and I will tell you why. We DO GET a few customer issues, and in EVERY CASE we either warranty the parts and in all cases show the customer what they have done wrong and they ALL GO AWAY AS HAPPY CAMPERS. We are not so unprofessional and ignorant to just post a negative comment on our website and bury our heads, we take care of the problems, we learn and respond and we move on and the customer is happy.

5) Please check where all the other famous brands you quote are made my friend, ours are 100% made in the UK, I wonder what they will all say.

Now please e mail me at andy@ebcbrakes.com and lets discuss your problem

Thanks
Andy

but there are some old uptight guys haha. it's all good. we're all different which is what makes it so cool at the same time.

yea man, my situation was i ordered a set of EBC Dimpled & Slotted 3GD rotors (front & rear) & a set of the EBC Ultimax pads from autopartsdealer.com. Their site said I was ordering the correct part # and it'd fit a 2002 2wd Ford F150...it won't, the fronts would only fit a 4wd F150. So I tried to just return the product, 1) pay return shipping 2) pay like a 15% restocking fee 3) pay a difference in the cost of the shipping to get it to my place because they were running a promotion and promotional prices had some kinda BS policy. So i've been stuck with em for months. Nobody would buy em on my local craigslist and nobody wanted em on here..

So I emailed Mr. Freeman the other day and told him about my situation just to see if there was anything he could do, not thinking there was much he could. To my surprise, those guys are fixing EVERYTHING for me. Not only is he sending me the correct parts, he's sending all new correct front & rear rotors (although none of these have ever been mounted) and even upgraded me to the EBC Greenstuff pads. I would've been fine with that, and mailing the old ones back.. but on top of all that they even sent a call tag for the products I had and UPS just picks em up.. no cost to me.

Now if that isn't 100% awesome customer service, i don't know what is..
