20's or 22's?
Okay so i have found the best dealer around to do my tires and wheels. after beating them up on prices i had come up with:
305/50/20 cooper zeon ltz's for tires and 20x9 fuel hostages with a -12mm offset.
i was planning on going today to make it official. however my brother had to chime in at work with a "whatever dude, your gay if you dont do 22's". i had eliminated the thought of anything bigger then 20 because of price. but just to see what the difference was i came up with this.

now i am a leveled 2wd f150. i hated the lowering shackles. my truck is a pavement princess. what do i dooooo. oh and the 22's, tires included, are only 200 bucks more. what do yall think? how will the 22's sit with the +18 mm offset?

The 22" wheel will stick in the fender well. Are you leveling the rear or the front. IMO go with the - offset unless you're doing the sport look. The Fuel Octanes are an offroad wheel thats why I'm assuming you're leveling the front. The -offset will also give you a bigger lip on the wheel. When comparing the 22x14 and 22x9.5 Octane they're nothing alike.

I went with 20s on my unleveled 4x2 because I have a few more 'backroad' type trips I take. The bigger the rim, the less the rubber, the harder the ride. If you are truly staying on pavement, 22's will be just fine. Personally I like the 20's because it gives me the 'big boy' rim appearance, but also leaves me with enough rubber that it looks like a truck tire.

I would really be sure that the offsets/ backspacing is going to work for your application. I know my 05 , 4x4. uses 33mm backspacing on the Roush 20 x 9.5. I run a 285/55/20 presently . Let us know how you like the cooper tires, I was considering a set . They are reasonably priced and made in the United states of America.

I just went look up the specs on these wheels. I beleive the offsets for the wheel sizes you gave where off.
These are all the different sizes available in 6x135 according to 4wheelpartsonline:
20x10 -12 offset 5.00" backspace
20x9 -12 offset 4.50" backspace
20x9 +1 offset 5.00" backspace
20x9 +14 offset 5.50" backspace
20x9 +20 offset 5.75" backspace
22x9.5 -18 offset 4.50" backspace
22x9.5 -6 offset 5.00" backspace
22x9.5 +8 offset 5.50" backspace
22x9.5 +19 offset 6.00" backspace
I'm not a wheel expert so I'm not sure exactly which wheel you will need to fit 33's with a leveling kit. As you can tell with my set-up I like a wheel with a big lip and stick out a little. Since your truck won't be lifted I wouldn't run something that stick that far out. It'll look like crap. If I had to guess I'd say the 20x9 +14 or 22x9.5 +8 will work good with your set-up. Lowest I'd go is +1 on the 20 amd -6 on the 22.
When deciding on a 20 or 22 you need to remeber that a mud tire will be a stiffer ride than a street tire. So with that in mind you have to decide if you're more concerned with the look or the ride quality. I prefer a 22, but my truck also doesn't ride as some as someone whos running 18's or 20's with a 37.
The wheels I have in this picture are 22x9.5 -18 offset.

If all your concerned with is looks. Do whatever pleases you. Suspension geometry is designed with a certain wheel tire configuration in mind. Wear and tear on suspension parts is excellerated , as components are deviated from stock. I'm Not saying aftermarket parts are bad, Some are an improvement over stock. what Im getting at is , if all the components aren't designed to work together. things like ball joints, cv joints,wheel bearings, and tires will wear much faster than in a system that compliments each other. Driveability will be compromised as well. Im no stranger to lifted, heavily modified rigs. Im just saying watch how emergency stopping, and lane changes are affected by lifts and larger tires. Been there done that !
