BFG Rugged Trails Dry Rotting
I have OEM BFG Rugged Trails T/A on my 2008 F150 Super cab size 275/65/18. The truck has 22,800 km or 14,000 miles. The sidewalls on all 4 tires are showing real bad dry rotting and cracking which extends into the first groove of the tread pattern. How would I approach the dealer about this problem. I know I will get the usual runaround but has anyone had the same problem with these tires and did the dealer replace them?

skip the dealer and go to an authorized michelin dealer. they may or may not get approval from michelin to replace the tires. it really is completely up to the tire manufacturer. unless the tires are leaking, ford will likely not be able to do anything. even if they do need to be replaced, ford is not an authorized dealer so they wouldn't be able to do a warranty replacement.

you obviously don't work in the industry. in order to warranty a BFG tire i have to call Michelin. i do it every day.

totally not the awnser you want to hear, but i know at least 4 guys with these tires on various trucks and every single one is exactly as yours. Every single one of these trucks is now running different tires. All showed signs within 20,000 miles and all got well over 40,000 miles out of them. Heres the list.

Squeaky wheel
As stated by AB46501 , Check the stamping on your sidewall. You can go to the BFGoodrich website and there is a section that will tell you what all those numbers mean. Most importantly when the tire was made. Tires like most everything else have a shelf life. Leave an email with their customer service. I have found them to be very responsive to my questions. You never know how far a little patience and perseverence will get you. From my experience the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Your right I dont work in the tire industry but apparently you do. If you have to CALL Michelin than It would appear you dont tell your customers to go directly to Michelin which is what you suggested to the OP.
