Question Does everyone's lifted truck shake

I'm about to replace my '04 with 6" lift and 35" tires with a new '09 with the same setup. One thing that annoyed me about the '04 was that no matter what or who I tried, nothing would get the shaking and vibrating off the truck. I hoped that it was only an isolated issue with my truck but after reading post after post regarding the same issue, I'm starting to doubt my decision on the '09 setup.

Does the shaking and vibrations happen to most of you with 6" lifts running
35" tires???

I have a 6" BDS and 35" MT's and no shake. I feel like a properly installed kit with a good set of tires and proper alignment, there shouldn't be any shake.

more importantly a good tire balance! add that to what JCU said.

also check your drive shaft if you have a bad u-joint it will cause vibrations.

also check all the steering, make sure everything is the way it should be.

now how bad is this shake? A shake to some is nothing to others.

After reading all the other posts stating that many running 35" tires had shaking and vibrations (pretty bad and very noticable), its comforting to hear that there is are some of you without . My '04 shook and vibrated the whole cab. Felt like a massage parlor.

Going to look at the new truck today. Thanks guys.

It's possible that you may have had a bent/defected rim if it vibrated that bad.

My '04 shakes like a son-of-a-bitch. I had a U-joint start to squeak so I took it in. Having a new drive shaft built + gear swap. I'll let you know if the new u-joints fixed the problem.

6" Suspension and 3" Body lift with 38"s and no shake even at 100 mph. And have been told by other lifted truck owners that mine is the best riding lifted truck they have been in.

A GREAT 4wd shop is a MUST when you have a lifted truck. It can make the difference to whether your truck will shake or not. And as others stated, make sure all you u-joints and steering components are in good shape before you put a lift on. If there is a very small shake in your truck now (the kind you barely notice), it will become a BIG shake after the lift. Good tires that balance out good is another key, and remember to rotate AND balance every 3 - 5,000 miles.
