Minimum Backspacing I can get away with?

06 XLT 2wd, with 2.5" AS

Going to go with Nitto TG or Cooper LTZ 305/55/20

What is the Maximum offset I can go with? (minimum BS)?

I want to the tires to stick out from the side, and dont mind hacking up plastic on front, , but not to the point where its going to be thumping the fender driving down the road....

please help

I wouldn't go less than 4.5" backspace.

I agree with the 4.5" of BS. I only have an 8" wide wheel but the wider wheel your use after say 9" you will run into problems, especially those with negative offset. Then you get into trimming and rubbing issues, especially with tires at 12.50 or wider, or those with big side lugs.

-12 with 8" wide wheels, +18 with 9" wide wheels.

For the look you want, I'd go with a 9 inch wide wheel with 5 inches of BS.
