33's and 3.55's?

I'm trying to decide between a 6" lift and a 4" lift, but the 6" might be ruled out because of my 3.55 gears and trying to run 35's. Would it be really pushing it to run 35's with a 5.0 v8 and 3.55 gears?

I am running 33s with 3.73s and I felt the power loss. 35s would have been worse and my MPG would be even lower than the 13/14 I get now. I have a 3" CAI, true dual exhaust and VMP tunes which makes up for most of it.

The loss was probably due more to the weight of the new tire/wheel combination versus the 33" height. Each one weighs 20 lbs more than the factory 20s.

One of my buddies has a 4.2 with 33's and 3:55's and his truck is fine. Its no race car but its not a dog either. I dont know what his mileage looks like though

I think you would be fine. You arent going to be able to beat everybody of the line, but then again you arent driving a harley or a lightning.. who cares? You could always save up and re-gear. I think that would get your "umph" back.

If your going to lift you will need to re-gear regardless. 33s will be fine. Dont even bother with 35s.
