Your best bet is to run the stock rims in the winter. That's what I'm doing, plus narrower tires are better for winter. But I guess if you wash them often enough they would hold up okay. Probably still not as long or nice as if we didn't have winter.

Ill probably try running mine in the winter, the guy from tirerack told me to put a really hard coat of wax over them before the salt hits the roads and also wash them and put the wax back on a couple times during the winter and you should be fine.

We don't use salt here in washington so its not as harsh....sand is all they use.

I've been wondering in my XDs will hold up in the winter, there's so much salt around here I'm not sure if it's worth the risk. But I'll probably try it anyway and see how fun it is navigating thru snowy backroads on 13.50" wide plows

I will also be joining the M/T and XD wheel bandwagon for the winter, hoping my traction will still be good, and with enough wax and washes the wheels will be fine.

Me neither, this wait period is just torture, and this is the only time i've ever been very happy to spend $2,000
