285/65/18 bfg a/t???????

I have a 2006 F150 4x4 with the chrome package. I am running factory rims with factory tires (275/65/18) and am thinking of going up one size to a 285/65/18 BFG A/T. Just wondering if there will be any rubbing issues? Also I am thinking about putting a leveling kit on later but am wondering if this will look funny with a smaller tire. Looking for anyone with pics running this setup 285/65/18 BFG A/T with a leveling kit added or without leveling kit.

The 285 65 18 are barely bigger, and look barely bigger then your stock tires, dont worry at all about fitment. The bfg a/t looks awsome on the stock wheels, much much better then the stock crap tires. I dont have any pics because the truck is not mine, but a good customer of mine has the same tires, size and all on his 05 and they look great and he loves them.
I've owned the bfg's before on other trucks and loved them, do yourself a favor and definitely get them!!

Now with that said, if you get a leveling kit, buy the 305/65/18 bfg's the truck will look insane!! Me personally if I were you I would level it and order the 305 65 18's and not even both with the 285 65 18.

Now there are tons of pics on this website of both sizes. Use the search function and just type the tire sizes to find them. So just type 285 65 18, and 305 65 18 in the search, the threads will show, just do alittle looking around for pics.

I agree, on a stock 4x4 the 285x65's are great. If you level the truck you'll probably wish you went with some 305x65's (close to 34 inches tall) and look great on a leveled 4x4.

True story. I have 285x65/18s on my stock rims, and wish I would have gone bigger. I have pictures in one of my albums if you want to see what they look like.

I went through same issue, IMO the 285s look small with a level kit. I have had the 285s,305s and now the 35s. Go to my profile and you can see the difference in them, the 305s look real good on the truck with a 2.5" or even a 2" level.

THANKS GUYS! There is just one little problem I have already bought the tires BFG A/T 285/65/18 couldnt pass up the deal. Paid only $900.00 NEW a local guy had them and they have never been mount or balanced before. CANT BEAT THAT PRICE! Now I am wondering if I should level the truck out or just leave it factory. WHAT WOULD YOU DO?????????

That is a good price, As far as the level kit it all depends on what look you want, I would get the tires put on then make your decision, IMO i dont like the factory rake so i would put a 2" level kit on it, I think that would liike good.

Will the 285 fit on a 4x2? I am in the market for tires and need to make sure that I don't get something too big and will rub?

If so the 275 are in order

Leave it stock, the wheel wells will be filled out better. Plus leveling kits aren't healthy for your front suspension.

I'd leave it alone up front with the 33's or you can drop the rear down a bit if you don't plan to tow anything too heavy. That will also level out the truck.

On a 4x2 the 33's will fit on a leveled 04 and up with the stock wheel's. A 285x70x17 or a 285x65x18 depending on what diameter wheel's you have.

You'll have to level it 2 inches to run the 33's with no rubbing.

I am not doing a leveling kit anytime. this is my DD/work truck so I am just doing some suttle cheap mods.
