What size tire did "you" go with.
i have now done all my research on what sizes and tires i could go with. For the past 3 months this question has been haunting me. Should i go with the 33" tires or the 35" tires. I can't seem to make up my mind. I am sure that there are others that have made this hard decision before me. Those of you that have came to your your conculsion please let me know what you did and do you have any regrets about the size tire you have chosen. I would appreciate all sorts of input including pics and details such as mpg and power loss.
Thank you.

I went with 315/70/17's which is a 35x12.5 inch tire basically. I really like the look and the weight of the tires, but my MPG got hit really hard. Before I was getting 13 in town easy with 16-17 on the highway. I'm now getting 10 in town if i baby it and no more than 13.3 highway. But my engine is completely stock and I'm running stock gears.
When I buy new tires in the near future, I think I'm going with 295 or maybe 305.
I dunno if that helped you at all, but just my 2 cents.

I chose 34/11.50 R17s. They are not as wide but handle better on mountain roads than a wider tire will. The Toyo Open Country MTs provide great traction under most situations. They are 34.1 inches tall while the 35 are 34.9 inches tall, only .4 inches taller, and these do not rub with a 2" leveling kit.

I am in your boat as well. I have been set on 35x12.50x18 bfg km2, but I do not want to take a huge performance hit along with gas as its bad enough already. I see toyo makes a 285/75/18 (35/11.50) not sure if this will make much of a difference as the toyo weighs 71lbs and the bfg weighs only 67lbs. There is always the option for 33 but just dont think they will look as good as 35.

I went with the 35's and could not be happier. I am sure 33's look plenty good and will help a little bit w/ MPG and all that, but I much prefer the 35's.
I have exhaust, intake, and a crappy tune and get 14mpg in town and 17mpg highway. I am currently waiting on PHP to get my gryphon custom tunes and hopefully will improve a little bit over that too.
I drive mine daily and take many trips with my job across TX and these tires have worked flawlessly thus far. I do a bit of offroad driving with my job, which is why I went with the Xtreme Mud tires.
FYI these are ProComp Xtreme Mud Terrain 35x12.5x17
Wheels are ProComp 1079 17x9 w/ 4.75" backspacing

I've got 33's now, and with my 2.5" kit up front and a 3" block kit in the rear, it makes the 33's look kinda small. So in essence, yes I do regret getting the 33's considering I got them after I installed the kits. What I'm wanting is a set of 35x12.5x20's for my factory wheels....they could possibly fit, but even if they did fit without any issue I would need to re-gear (currently have 3.55's).

I got my first Chevy with 33's and went straight to 35's which suited me much better. Fast fowrard to today and you'll see that I got my F-150 with 35's but had to go up to 37's. My conclusion from past experience along with opservations from the site is that most people who go smaller end up wishing they had gone bigger. Reminds me of the same thing they say about women when they get their ***** done- food for thought.

I went with 285/65/18 BFG ATs with an AS 2". I considered 305/65s, but went with the 285s mainly because I got a pretty good deal on the ATs. I'm now looking to sell the 285s and go with something a bit bigger. I don't drive my truck enough to really care about gas mileage, so that's not really a concern.

tires for rims
Hi all, do you think that a pair of 17x9 with 4.75 backspacing will fit under my truck without leveling with 285-70-17 tires? Do not want o level it because I did not like the ride after it was leveled and love the new trucks ride. Have the rims from my old truck and was thinking of going from the OEM 18's to the 17's.
Thanks, T
