16x7 rim "ok" on 315x75x16?

I have a few questions, i have 315x75s and am wondering if they will bulge alot on a 7 inch wide rim? Also wondering if converting from 5x135 to 5.5 adaptors will be alright? Thanks

A 315mm wide tire is too wide for a 7 inch wide wheel. Running a tire on a wheel that is too narrow can cause the center portion of the tread to wear faster than normal, similar to running too much air. A lot of people run 315 mm wide tires on the OEM 17x7.5 inch wide wheels with good results, but that is pushing it. I would only do it if I was gonna buy wider wheels in the near future.
Also, I'd avoid bolt pattern adaptors.

Bolt pattern adapters have been around for decades, and have NEVER been a good idea....

The narrower the wheel, the worse the handling will be from sidewall flex, the more heat will be generated again from sidewall flex, potential wear problems as already mentioned, and last but not least and arguably the most important...it'll look like crap. I disagree that a 7.5" wheel is pushing it...I say still waaay to narrow. Minimum wheel width for a 315 IMO is a 9". I personally would want under 10".

Odds are, you are not going to find a 16x10 wheel in our bolt pattern new. Many manufacturers have completely stopped production of a wheel in any size in the 5x135 bolt pattern. Not much of a productive market for them anymore with the popularity of the '04 and newer trucks. Your best bet is to start shopping for a used set. Obvioulsy it's going to be tough to find that size AND something you like.

My personal opinion for you now is to shop for a different size tire until you find a combo you like later on.
