Wider or taller

A co-worker of mine has Cooper Zeon LTZ for sale.
Size 305/50r/20
I'm sheduled to get a set of Zeon LTZ from local shop in couple of weeks.
275/60r/20

He's selling them for $650 w/6k on them.

So do I take the deal for the wider tires or go with the taller tires?
He's selling the tires bcz he wants taller ones.

FYI I also paid almost $1400 for mine. $650 with 6k on them is a steal.

The 305/50's are ~ 32" tires, 305/55's are ~ 33". There is a inch difference btw 50's & 55's. I was in the same dilemma and glad I went with 55's; wider and taller. IMO, they look perfect for what I was looking for.

I just want to comment on the rubbing issue with these. When the tire shop mounted my tires they pumped them up to 35psi. Mind you this is a E load range tire. At that PSI my tires did rub slightly at full lock, not a big deal. However, I didn't like running the the tires at that low of a pressure and when I bumped it up to 50psi, VOILA, no rubbing at all!!

Now I can only speak for myself but this is what I just encountered. Just for the record they were TOYO A/T's and I have a '07 Screw XLT 4X4.

You guys are comparing the 305/50 & the 305/55.
I wz talking about the 275/60 & the 305/50.
The 275/60, 305/55 are both 33"
The 305/50 is 32"

Both 305's are 1" wider the the 275.

But it's to late for the tires he sold them on craigslist.

So now I'm looking @ the new DuraTracs in a 275/65.
These would be a 34" tire.
2006FX4 has them on his truck I really like how they fill up the wheel well.

We get a discount thru work on Goodyears so I think I'll check out the price.

i know that the f250's came with the goodyear wrangler ats in that size 275/65/20 and can be had for dirt cheap, like 600 bucks a set, just an idea. but the new goodyears do look pretty sharp
