How did this guy get these to fit? PIC inside

I was on cardomain and seen this truck. I like the stance of the truck how the wheels are brought out but how did he get them to fit. They are 35x12.5 mud graps and only looks like a leveling kit. I thought in order to fit that wheel and tire combo the offset had to be as close to stock as possible, but these look like a -12 offset. heres the pics.

What backspacing can I get away with with minor trimming. I dont want them the same as stock but I dont want to hack my truck up to get them to fit. 18x9 with 4.5" BS?

Also I have 35's now but not sure if im gonna stick with them down the road or not.

I know my buddy ran a 17x8 with a -4 on his truck with 35s and a Leveling kit and it just barely rubbed on the inside of the fender right next to the frame.

building a truck one blade at a time.
yea an alignment in the near future would be nice.

Backspacing and offset varies from rim to rim, to get the desired lip and how far you want your rims to stick out and throw rocks mud and sand on your paint. It looks sweet but keeping it clean would be a pain in the butt IMO.

i have 35's with a 2.5" leveling kit

my current wheels have a +18 offset, they rub slightly at full lock at the 3 o'clock spot on the fender flare when driving reverse.. they do not rub at all driving forward

my last set of wheels, also with 35's were +30 offset and they rubbed really bad on the control arm at full lock

I like how far yours stick out, not too much but just enough to give it a wider stance. I will definitely look into +18 offset.
