33 20s compared to 33 18s Pics

Anyone have suggestions which one to use? I will be installing a 2.5 leveling kit on a 04 fx4 supercrew , thinking of the xd rockstars. If anyone has this set up could you please post your pics thanks!

If your planning a full suspension lift in the future, going with the 20s now could make things cheaper in the long run, but if you just leveling it I would go with 18s. Looks cleaner and much nicer/betterly sized for the height.

Not the Rockstars but XD series, so here's 20s wrapped in 33s:

mblouir...what is the backspacing/offset on those Monsters? I'm looking at getting 18" with 5.71 bs and +18 offset. Just want to get an idea of how they'll look. thanks...

You're looking at the exact same measurements. These are the XD Monsters 20x9 with 5.71 bs and +18 mm offset.

Here's an idea of how far they stick out for you:

thanks mblouir for the info and the photo...perfect. I like the wheels/tires tucked in some and not sticking out too far. Mine will be 18x9 with 5.71bs and +18 offset. Now trying to get the best price on a set of BFG KA AT's in 305x65x18. I'm excited!

What is th difference here between Mblouir and HivoltageFX4 trucks? I don't mean any offense, but the stance of Mblouir's is so much tougher looking. Is it just the side profile of the tire, or is there an offset/backspace difference? Maybe difference in levelling? Something rather dramatic is different and I'd really like to capture what it takes to create the stance of Mblouir's for my own!

I'll be getting some 18" rockstars to go in my 32" Toyo's within the next few days. I'll post pics of those when I get them if it will help you any.

Most likely because of blouir's Toyos and the fact that he's got 20s instead of 18s. Just my .02.

I'm pretty sure we both have the 2" leveling kit. I think like you said, it's the side profile of the tire. I get as many if not more compliments on the tires than the wheels. They are a really aggressive tire. The only other difference is the wheels--the 18s have a -12mm offset with 4.53" of backspacing and the 20s are +18mm offset with 5.71" backspacing.

18' and 33's not XD's or rockstars, but. jus for reference. aggressive stances have everything to do with backspacing and offset of the wheels and tread pattern oof the tires. an 18 and 33 can look just as agressive as a 20 and 33 combo and vice versa.

HiVoltage, what is the actual size on the sidewall of the tire? Is it a metric or standard size? From what I've seen, it seems like the metric sizes (305 60 18, etc.) have that balloon look a lot more than standard sizes. (33 12.50 18) I may be wrong, but it's what I've noticed. My truck has 35 12.50 18's and they are tall and square shouldered, real tough looking. I've seen other trucks with the metric equivalent of my size that have that Round looking sidewall.
