2008 F-150 Bumpy Ride. Tire Issue?

Hi,
I bought a new 2008 F-150 and I've been questioning the way the truck rides. Not sure if its an issue or if its just the way the truck ride. I notice at all speeds, even low speed, the ride feels bumpy even when on what seems to be flat clean roads. I feel almost contant bumps in the steering wheel, the door arm rest and floor.

Any thoughts on what this could be? Could the tires be bad?

Not sure if its just because its a truck or if I have an issue. I had other F-150trucks and the ride seemed better.

Thanks,
Dean

What brand is the tires? Also, may be over-inflated. Usually the more air in a tire the harsher the ride.

They are BF Goodrich Rugged Trail T/A. I checked the pressure and the front tires were about 5 pounds over at 40 PSI. I reduced to 35 PSI and I'll take it for a test ride tomorrow. Not sure if that's enough to make a difference.
Thanks,
Dean

5 Pounds is relatively significant, especially for a C rated tire. Since its an 08, take it in for road force balance. I never got a decent ride out of any BFG product. I recently put Toyo AT's on mine and swapped out the factory Pirellis and it's smooth as butter at any speed. No more steering wheel shimmy and it's even an E rated tire @ 45psi on all four corners. Couldn't be happier.

My Lariat rides very smooth. Even with factory 20's, it never rode rough. Glad I didn't opt for an FX4.

lol. My FX4 rode great stock, and still does. Your tires are probably crap. Out of round, out of balance, over inflated, etc. Could be bad shocks, balljoints, anything else. My FX4 drove like a luxury car with everything stock.

i have a 2004 ford f150 with the bfgoodrich AT and i had to change my tires because the ride was so terrible..i live in the cold canadian north...I would feel every little crack or little bump on the road..i changed the tires to the stock ones and the ride now is so comfortable and not bumping all over the place..Thinking it must be your tires..
