Revos or Nitto Terra Grappler or ??

It's an '07 XLT Screw with 6.5' bed.
I have a 2" AutoSpring leviling kit on it.

Going to be replacing the tires on it soon, and I really like the Revos, but the biggest I can get is 285/70/R17, where the TG are available in 295/70/17 and 305/70/17. From what most say, a 34" tire is ideal for the 2" leveled truck.

Mostly (daily) street driven, the occasional northeast snow, and occasional ATV trailer towing down dirt roads.

If I'm going to go with 33s, I'm pretty set on the Revos.

The Wrangler MT/R in a 305 looks way cool, but I wore off Goodyears long ago.

I saw Toyo MT is available in a 305 - but not sure if I need that aggressive of a tire.

I don't really want to go to 35s.

Are there any other 295 or 305/70/17 tires I should consider?

Nitto also makes a 285/75 17 that I am considering. I have the TG 295/70 17 now and they need replacing. It is a 34" and must be a newer size. I put a post up a few days ago but can't find anyone running them.

The tread appears very similar to the Nitto TG.

How are the TG on wet roads? Snow?

Toyo make's Nitto tires, that's why the tread on the terra's and the Toyo AT's look almost alike. I have a set of Toyo AT's that are great tires. 285x70x17's. They'll do everything my BFG's can do except ride smooth!

I put a set of Revos on an 02 SCrew in 265/70/17's and they were by far the worst tires I've ever bought including off brand El Cheapos. The tires were just over whelmed by the heft of the truck. You had to knock about 10 mph off of normal driving speed going around a cloverleaf or expect to come out sideways. I'm assuming they have a soft sidewall because the tires would just fold up under any kind of cornering. I played with the air pressure and even went as far as 10 lbs over max but it didn't change a thing. They rode great, had fabulous traction in rain but just don't go around a corner with them. They were so bad I traded the truck off instead of having to deal with another set of tires. The factory Generals were a far, far better tire. I've also put a set of Yokohama Geolanders H/T-S 275/60/17 on my 04 SCrew and they ride great, handle great and fuel mileage dropped a whopping 20%. I've gotten some of the mileage back by running 8lbs over max air pressure but the rolling resistance is incredible. Others reviewers I read have had the same issue with these tires- poor fuel mileage. The BFGs are hard to beat. I'd take another look at them if I were you. My brother rides ranches all day and that's the only tire he can keep under a truck. He gets great wear out of them too. He runs the AT KO. Here's the reviews at Tire Rack:

I haven't sworn off the BFG AT. I had them on a Bronco and they were a pretty decent tire. I'm just not sure if I want that squared of a shoulder. From what I remember, that was a pretty heavy tire, and those were 32s, I think.

I've been putting nothing but BFGs on my vehicles for years when time came to replace OEM or other tires. I love the look of the KM2, but I don't need that aggressive of a tire on the road.

In my opinion BFG is the way to go. BFG AT's and MT's are very good tires. I have a buddy who has some Mastercraft CT's on his Chevy 1500 and they are pretty aggressive tire. They aren't quiet a all terrain tire and not quiet a mudterrain tire either, its kind of a cross between the two. He says he's gotten pretty good mileage out of them too. Not loud at all like a mud terrain tire either. Not sure what sizes they come in though, don't see too many of those tires around.

I thought the same thing. The worst I've read about them is some complain about the treadlife. Trade the truck instead of buying new tires?
I don't get it.

I love my Revo's. 2nd F150 I've had them on. They ride so much better than the Wrangler's that were on when I bought it. Feel stable to me, but I don't try slinging my truck around corners too much either. I love the look of mud terrain tires, but couldn't live with them day to day.

If you can, go with the Toyo's. I just put a set of 33's on and they are amazing. I've had rough rides with BFG's, which are a very good tire, but I always had balance problems. The Toyo's I got are a VERY big tire, and they ride better than my factory Scorpions. Plus, Toyo has a 30 day, 500 mile money back guarantee. That should help in making decisions....did I mention that they are cheaper than the BFG's?
