Just wondering...are superswampers/mudder tires good for winter or should i go for a different thread pattern?

Depends on what you consider good winter traction? If it's deep snow traction, probably. But they won't do very good on snow and ice at all. Mudders or not, when they get too cold they can't grip and game's over. That's what makes snow tires work so well when it gets cold.

Check out Firestone Destination A/T, and General Grabber A/T. Also for just winter tires - blizzak hands down.

I wouldn't have M/Ts for winter, much rather A/Ts. A/Ts have a smoother tread to cut through snow, not an aggressive tread pattern to collect snow and make traction risky.
