Ya she won't get in with a skirt on again after last time.

I think I'd have to do an axle swap to go any higher, and another gear change, and who knows what else.

I'm gonna stick to something simple next like headers!

ive seen your truck dirty before i was just saying yours is more a show truck than an offroad rig. and you have big enough meat for 20's.

It would be FAR less then $40 k.

I would think somewhere around $5k would get you running on 52" michelins. Its really not that hard, or expensive. We did it to that Toyota pick-up i posted pics of earlier. He is running the 56" tires.

Hey man, had a laptop mishap :o but I finally got a new one.

I'm still not sure why I clicked on "40s or 38s on 24s"? It's not likeI had anything constructive to say.

FX4life, your truck has two of my biggest pet peeves, 20s and Toyos.

j/k

Crap then I'm going to get started on it so we can be friends again.

Not really, Hell the way it is now it's hard enough to get deer or anything else in the back of it!

I need some air bags bad!! so i can tow a decent load or fill the bed full of wood without rubbing.

I won't ever go any higher with this truck.

Ya 40K may be streching it a bit.

Just for the sake of argument and not doing my actual job, wouldn't it take a solid axle swap, gears, somekind of custom lift, probabaly new wheels(these may not be strong enough), what else?

Well. I would cut the fender off. Bam.... gone. Weld up and bend in some nice new tube fenders. Will help keep you low to the ground. Maybe take the bed completely off, and turn it more into a tubed out rear section, and turn your rig into a Truggy. Then throw away your current axles, buy some 2 1/2 Ton rockwells, buy some BIG *** Johnny joints, heavy duty tubing for the links, and some tahoe coils. Make our own coil buckets. Steering would be handled by a PSC double ended ram, full hydro steering. Custom driveshafts, and a couple other "odds and ends" that would need to be addressed. Lots of frame support and other brakets would need to be installed. After that, I would look into maybe getting a double t-case system to work, or swap in a Atlas t-case. The new 4-speed case has an "ultra low" of 10.3:1

Would be PLENTY of grunt for your v-8 to move around just fine, and perform GREAT off road.

no one in their right mind would do that to a '03 F-150 with only 60K miles on it!

I'm talking still a "normal" truck afterwards.

He's either re thinking his whole idea of the 24's, or he's already got them and all the chicks that go for that kind of thing are all hanging around waiting for him to blow his money on them, since he can blow so much $$ on wheels and tires! ha, ha!!

Ha, I just got back from lunch and drove about 6 miles total.... I saw no less then 6 rigs of various makes (all 3/4 ton or above however) with the big ol swamp buggy wheels on them... 4 of them were black wheels and the other 2 where chrome.... Yeah, they are pretty 'unique'...... I'm seeing more of these kind of rigs around then I am of the good ol Ricers with the huge wing on the back and a fart can exhaust!

The funniest one was the Dodge Ram lifted to the clouds with the biggest wheel/smallest sidewall tires I have ever seen and he had two smoke stacks coming out of the bed right behind the cab that had to be at least 6" dia... had some wild, multi colored, striped paint job on it and was all shined up and ready for a show! I wish I had my camera with me!! I've seen it around before, so I'll try to get a shot of it sometime....

I'm all for modding up your vehicle and 'personalizing' it to your tastes, but please, don't try to justify it by saying I wanted a 'unique' custom job, because these setups are a dime a dozen and they all look the same!
