Good pads?

Unfortunately, when I bought my truck, the dealers inspection said my brakes were fine, but felt a bit mushy to me, and they assured me all was well. Well, for the heck of it, I took off my rear tires today and what do I find? Basically no pads what so ever. I'm not even going to bother to cause a hassle with them, and just change them myself. Any body have any good experiences with certains brands or what? Everyone swears by the Napa Ceramix pads, but I do not have a Napa by me, only Fail Zone, CAP and Carquest. Any recommendations?

Personally, I feel the Centric Posi Quiet Pads are awesome. Good stopping power, and low dust.

I'm assuming those are available at any of those stores?

I personally stay away from ceramics. But, they will all have their own ceramic they will try to sell ya.

I use thermoquiets, and, they should be available at all of them places.

I personally love Wagner ThermoQuiets but I think CarQuest Blues are just as good. Little dust, long wear and quiet.

Yea, blues are great. They are just not readily available to me here overseas. I just order all of my parts from rockauto and varsity ford and parts are here to me in Germany in about 4-5 days. But, blues will more than likely be what I go with when I get back in the states.

Just had rebuilt Cardone front calipers, Wagner TQ semi-metalic pads, turned rotors w/new bearings on my '99 F150 Lariat. Haven't seen any more dust actually less front pad dust than those (can't remember brand) I had on before.

Great stopping brake feel with my HD 20" wheels.

Couldn't be happier with my front combo thus far.
