With those wheels you can fit a 315/70-17 (35x12.50) tire. If you have any rubbing it will be very minor.
A 305/65-17 is essentially a 33x12.50 tire while a 285/70-17 is basically a 33x11.50 tire. So, both are approximately 33 inches tall but one is about an inch wider. You could run either of these sizes with no rubbing.

Those are the same spec wheels I'm running with the 315's and have zero rubbing with them. They will stick out only 1/2" more than stock and the wheel and tire will be inside the wheelwells.

so then if you can run 315-70-17
on these wheels...
why do all the wheel dealers I talk to or websites selling wheels/tires
suggest the widest tire to run on a 8 inch wide wheel is a 285???

Thanks

Probably a liability issue, I've put about 20k miles with my 315's on 8" wheels in the past year and they ride and handle better then when they were on my 9" wide wheels. Tucked in they ride and handle better then when they were sticking out about 1 1/2 inches more. Just my 2 cent's.

Looks good knighj1...

I currently have the same stock wheels on my truck but
I just want aftermarket wheels to make my truck look different...
I see a black FX4 like mine on the road once a week...

I even considered getting them chrome plated but
I can buy new 17" wheels for the same price of chrome...
not to mention 20" tires are not cheap!!!

not to mention I like the less wheel-more tire look
more than the more wheel-less tire look...

also is that a harley grille on your truck???
did you re-use your factory surround???
if so how much of a pain was it to install???

Thanks

Nitto also makes a 305x70x17 terra grappler which is a 34" tire, kinds of splits the diff.

One of my favorite stock (no lift kit) trucks . Although, to Intimidator317 if you want to run aftermarket wheels I stick with 33's. Will give you more options when picking a wheel and give you more room in your wheel wells when off-roading, towing and hauling heavy loads. If I would have stayed with a leveling kit I would have dropped down to 33's.
