Found this wheel/tire chart while looking at my options and
thought others might benefit as well...

http://www.wheelsforless.com/Ford/default.htm

still not decided...

20's with 325 looks good...but not crazy about factory/everyone has them wheels...plus tires cost over $400 each!!!
and mpg/performance & braking may be sacraficed...

Hey Intimidator....

I have 33"s ....BFG AT 285/70-17"s... and I like them, but if their were some easier, cheaper way I could have squeezed 35"s under there, I would have.

Just my .02 cents.
Fish

I'd get 33's.

As mentioned, I'd only get 35's with a 4" lift or bigger otherwise they look funny IMO.

Hey Fish Chris where did yo get those Bilstein shocks from? Is that the only thing you did to the front to add the larger tires?

Hey Fish

just my 2 cents but it loks like you need an add-a-leaf
or lift blocks in the back to level the truck out...

other than that it looks cool...

I have been doing more research on tires
and have read a lot of negative reviews on the BFG allterrain t/a's...
espically by folks in the upper midwest who have said
the tires don't handle thick, wet snow at all...

I am now leaning to the BFG mud terrain's
I hear they recently improved the tires to make them more
road worthy...(quieter and longer life)

all things important to me since I live In Chicago
and this is my daily driver...and have no current plans to go off road...
although it is looking more like I want to hit the trails!!!

I bought my truck last November and soon found how much
the stock 20" scorpion tires suck in snow and rain...
I ended up putting 350 pounds of sandbags in the truck to get traction...
this made it better but not great...and I was getting 12 mpg!!!

If the mud terrains don't wear all that well I can just run them Nov-Mar
and keep the scorpions for the non snow months...

anyone use the mud tires mostly on the street and/or have driven in snow with them???

Thanks

I don't think I've ever heard negative reviews on them.

The mud terrains will handle MUCH worse in the snow than the all-terrains, will be significantly louder, and won't last as long as the all-terrains. The BFG all-terrains are one of the best tires on the market.

If handling in the snow is a concern of yours, DO NOT buy mud tires.

BFG A/T's bad????

I've put bfg a/t's on all my trucks and have never regretted it. I live near buffalo, ny and boy let me tell you... we get TONS of snow here and i've never been disappointed with them... any thing from 2" of powder snow to 2' of heavy wet snow . I've got 305/65's sitting in my shed waiting to be put on my truck now, i was trying to hold out as long as possible but i don't think i can wait any longer!!!

I am so confused...

I am thinking 33's don't fill the wheel well enough and 35's fill too much
and there are slight issues with rubbing, performance and MPG...
so maybe I will go with a mickey thompson or pro comp 34" tire...
