I am getting ready to do my lift kit and tires. I got the Auto Spring 2.5" front lift kit, I want to put on 315 70 R17 (stock wheels). Any of you guys doing that and if so you all rubbing at all or anything I should be aware of such as braking issues. I am going to get the Edge Evo. Prgm. to recalibrate everything so I'm good there. Any tips or advice would be great!

On the stock wheels you may get a little rubbing on the upper control arms making a full crank, nothing major. I have my 315's on 8" wheels with 5.5 inches of BS, about as close to stock as you can get. I have no rubbing at all. I set my edge on lvl 2 and adjusted for tire height in milimeters and this also adjusts your speedo. I've been getting up to 18mpg hwy and am quite satisfied. All this info is assuming you have a 4x4 truck. Also I put on carquest blue pads on to help with braking. Hope this info helps.

I am wanting to go from the 33's to 35's on my 97. Just double checking before I take the plunge....

and if you haven't seem them, Paw Paw's 315/70-17"s look fantastic !

To answer your question though, 315/70-17"s are listed on the BFG website, as having a 34.5" diameter.

Hey Paw Paw, BFG also says the minimum wheel width for this tire is 8.5 inches, but your running them on 8"s ? No problems, huh ? I wonder if this helps to make your wheels look even fatter (better :-) by bulging out a little farther from the wheels ?

Thanks Fish....With the Pro Comp's they reccommend an 8" wide rim for both the 33's and 35's....I am running the stock 7.5" with the 33's....and no problems.

 

Yes, a 315/70-17 is essentially a 35x12.50-17.

 

Fish, no uneven wear running these tires on 8" wheels. I've got close to 25k miles on them and they still look new. Also Deer Predator, I don't know if you have a body lift or plan a suspension lift because I think on a '97 you will need one to clear 35's. Check with Wandell on this.

 

I do not have a lift on either body or suspension. However as you can see from my pic I do have sufficient clearance with the 33's that are currently on the truck.....

THey will fit if you use your oem wheels. However, they are gonna rub the frame at full steering lock. If you are never gonna lift the truck, I'd stick with some 33's.
