Angry Already need new tires

Well, I have been running the Pro Crap Extreme Mud Terrain for almost a year now. Truck is NOT a DD. Does towing duty, and some off roading.

Rear Right (driver) has a chunk coming off, where the rubber is seperating from the cords. Cords are exposed but still holding air.

Front right (driver) just had a sidewall blow out, while going to get some food, and on PAVEMENT. Sidewall had some cracking going from tread to rim, one finally blew out, doesn't hold air for more then an hour or two.

All tires have some kind of cracking. Some cracking is taking place where the outter lug meets the "flat" rubber (if that makes sense) and it looks like some of the outter lugs are about ready to rip off.

Pro-Comp has refused to stand by their product. They say it is not workmanship of the tire, but rather my tires have "happened to hit road hazards causing different problems". These tires have MAYBE 8k on em. PLENTY of tread left. They advertise them as "extreme" yet they don't back them up when the street begins tearing them up ?

I will post up some pics as I get em.

Sorry, just pissed, thought I'd share with all you guys. These tires started out GREAT, giving me superb traction in anything I put the truck through. I rotate every 3k and constantly check PSI. I loved their look and how aggressive they are. Last pro-Comp ANYTHING I buy.

So now, I am looking at the KM2's. Maybe Mikey Thompson's MTZ or ATZ, or maybe another tire. Not sure how aggressive i want to go, but I can't go too mild either, I take my truck in some pretty nasty stuff pretty often. Not sure yet... I might even go with the Toyo's. Time to do more research I guess.

rant over

That sucks! My Coopers weren't the greatest tires in the world either.

I'm happy to be back on the BFG bandwagon.

SWAMPERS hahahaha.

Id honestly say to go with a KM2's

TOYOS will work if you dont put them on a large wheel.

please please please dont get Nitto MG's

But seeing how you drive that truck id suggest a set of swampers. My dad has Iroks and they are at the wear bars with 40k not bad for a super aggressive MT

The Super Swamper Truxus MT's arent bad but i woudnt recommend them since you tow.

I know you have your beater sami for the trails but with the truck not being a DD a set of aggressive MT's wouldnt be all that bad.

If not then BFG TA KO's are a proven tire...

Thanks for the heads up Wandell. Think i'll stay away from Mickey's as well.

Sorry Les ! I know there were a couple guys who I had suggested this tire to. At the time, these tires were holding up great. Kinda all went to hell over a couple weeks. But I am fairly hard on the tires I guess, so it could be "driver error" but I don't know. I guess just keep and eye on em. I was just surprised hwo un-willing ProComp was to work with me. Not even charging me a pro-rated rate on the tires or something.

For the record: I had a set of Baja Claws that were awesome off-road. They just wore really fast.

Anyways: I don't think i will be going with an Interco tire. Not sure, but the Iroks I have seen wear real fast. Truxus look decent, but I don't know.

Don't worry, i am not new to this, and will not be posting threads on tires like Nitto MG's or anything. I simply wanted yall to know about my current tires, and if your running the same ones, to maybe keep an eye on em. Althought I do appreciate any input on new tires. I am leaning towards the KM2

Oh, and I don't have a huge wheel, its an 18" rim. Toyo would work decent I think. Plus, last a long time. I don't go heavy mud bogging or anything with the truck. Mostly tow... then do some recovery work with it once the Zuk is stuck. Thats why I was thinking maybe Toyo.. or something less off road capable and more street friendly.

I think the TOYO would work nicely with your set up.

However the BFG KM2 would be awesome!

TONS more traction in reverse with the Claws. I've seen them mounted backwards on many rockcrawlers.

Dude go with KM2s. Way more aggressive than Toyos, and cheaper. Plus with your black rims, the KM2s look mean. Check out this truck:

https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=336435

Plus EVERYONE in Cali runs Toyos, you probably notice this too. Seriously 3 of every 4 lifted trucks here has Toyos. Ever go to local Tire shops? All they stock for MTs is Toyo MTs, its sickening. A couple friends of mine have Toyos and to be honest, they arent that impressive in the mud. They are extremely heavy and made of a hard compound, dont perform well in muck. The BFGs are lighter and dig much better.

BFGs should last you a solid 40-50k miles too.
