Nitto or Toyo..or any other suggestions?

Im getting a new truck either in July or a couple months later and i need suggestions on tires. I'm looking for a 37x13.50 tire rim size either 18" or 20" and I might even step up to a 38x15.50 tire depending on how much money I'll have. Now i'm stuck between the Nitto Mud Grapplers and Toyo Open Country MTs. What do you guys reccomend?

Question

Personally, I prefer the Toyos, they look better imo. I would go for 37/13.5r20, it would be a nice wheel to rubber ratio. I'm running Toyo MT 35/12.5r20 and they look pretty sweet with my 6" lift, so I'm sure the 37's would look cool just as well on a 8"+ lift.

On a side note, the Toyos will more than likely ride/sound better on the pavement, city and highway. Plus, from speculation and previous posts, most people get a lot better tread life on the Toyos compared to the Nittos. As far as functionality... The Toyos will serve you more than well enough in the mud. You more than likely would never get stuck unless you ran into a lake.

I just got the Toyo M/T's and I love em. Personally... I would go with the Toyo. The tread pattern on the Nitto Mud Grappler in my opinion is way too aggressive.

The Mud Grapplers are extremely loud and wear out quickly. The Toyo MT would be a much better choice IMO.

+1...Nitto has Toyo beat in the A/T department, but Toyo has Nitto in the M/T department. I saw both over the weekend, infact I saw the Nitto Mud's in size 37...it honestly looked like a construction vehicle. The tires looked like they came off of a backhoe. Toyo for M/T...Nitto for A/T. Or...even the new BFG KM2...saw them too in size 37.....badass is the only word that comes to my mind.

I love BFGs dont get me wrong but they just seem too skinny esp when you have a 37" tire it has to be at least 13.50" wide IMO. 37x12.50 (what the BFGs come in) is just too skinny for my taste. 12.50 is fine for a 35" tire but not 37s.

out of that choice id go with Toyos... the Nittos will perform better offroad but they will wear twice as fast. Id buy a Swamper before a Nitto.

Id Much rather see a Procomp Extreme MT or Mickey Thompson MTZ.

The MTZ comes in Wide varieties also (i believe)

I would personally recommend the Cooper Discoverer STT's. I have had them on my truck for almost 8k and they are a great tire. Not really loud on the roads, great wearing, and great looks. Not to mention, they are a little less expensive than the Toyos with pretty much the same tread and a more aggressive sidewall. They are at least worth checking out.

However, if you can only pick between the Toyo's and Nitto's, then go with the Toyo's.

Mickey T MTZ's or the toyo's. If I was going that big I would probably get the toyos. Great reputation of road manners and ability to balance well

I've personally heard the nitto mud graps and would never own them, annoying loud. My toyo m/t's are pretty quiet. If you are going with a 37x13.5x20 tire make sure you get it right the first time, don't want to be buying those twice

I`d recommend the Toyo MT too I have them on my truck and like zeruin said unless you drive through a lake (which I tried and got stuck) they are a pretty good offroad tire, I would say 80% of my driving is on the pavement and these tires ride good and are not to loud.

How do these compare to the KM2s, especially regarding wear and tread life????
