lift w/ backspacing problem...help

Hey guys,

I followed Fabtechs suggestions on their 6" lift anf got my 18s from 4wp with the recommended 5" of backspacing.
MY lift was supposed ot be done today and the installer called me and said that the front rims hit the rotors...So after being really pissed off because I havnt had the truck for a week, apparently I have ot but wheel spacers to make everything fit.
Where can I get them, and why didnt they fit correctly like fabtech and 4wp said they would? They are procomp 18x9s with 35x12.50x18s xtreme at's?

THanks for all your help...

It sound like you need to find out what "front rims hit the rotors" really means.

Who is doing the install?

thanks, yes, I guess I do need to find out what that means, but it is an offroad shop doing install and they do 3-4 installs a week, so they should know what they are doing. He actually said he never seen that before. Im wondering if they sent me the wrong offset????

Something doesn't sound right the 18's should not hit the rotors since that is what comes on the truck from the factory. However I thought the wheel required 4.5" BS.
Is it the stick on wheel weights that may be interfering?

That is a good thought, some wheels require the weights be applied to the inside of the wheel. That might be exactly what is hitting the rotors.

If they are ProComp Strykers by chance, they DO bottom out on the brake calliper. It doesn't matter what offset you get, there just not made correctly. I guess that's why 4wheelparts is selling them buy2 get2 free, they are being discontinued. All you need is a 1/4" spacer and they have them for $54 a set of 4. When I ordered my Strykers, the guy said I would need them and he gave them to me for free.

Call 4wheelparts.com and tell them that your wheels are hitting the calipers. Just like bigrigpapa stated, they know about this and will send the spacers to you for free...I had the same problem before bigrigpapa and they will send them out quickly...

They should send them out automatically, but of course they won't unless you ask them too...

Just like bigrigpapa stated, the wheels are not made perfectly on the offset...so that is why they are selling them so cheap. Don't worry, the wheel is extremely well made...you won't be disappointed. Also, don't worry about the small spacer being an issue...there is still plenty of lug left for the new spline lug nuts you got with your wheels to clamp down.

Ok, all set now. The 1/4 spacers were the trick. I just got some local because I didnt want to leave the truck at the shop for another week of deliver for the spacers.
I think i will call them though and have them send me a set anyway. Not right they didnt tell me in the first place. Not so sure Ill deal with them again. Doesnt seem too honest to me and to put me through the anxiety of that phone call after spending over 5g in parts and labor.
Thanks for the help guys.

Yea, Schmidtty and myself are both running 20's and needed the spacers. The flat part (back of rim where it bolts up to) presses up against the brake calliper when it's tightened down. Just a bad design but the spacers do the trick. I guess that's why they are being discontinued, costing the company money for all the free spacer kits .

Yah, I am definitely happy they screwed up their design!

Otherwise, I couldn't have gotten these outstanding wheels so damn cheap! It was worth the inconvenience of the spacer ordeal to get the whole set for $516.00...actually a little less than that with my military discount...$465.00 for 4 20X10 rotary forged wheels that look great on my truck is something I can live with!

Any of you guys have a part# for those 1/4" spacers by chance? I was looking to pick some up but couldn't find them on the 4wp site.
