Exclamation Need Help Please!!!

I have a 2004 Fx4 scab with the stock 17 and the p255/70 R 17 General Ameritrac tires. I want to get 33 or 35 tires but i am not sure if they will fit if my truck is only has the 2 inch leveling kit installed. I don't even know if its possible to put 33's on 17. I don't know if my truck has enough backspacing to fit these. If anyone can lend their advise that would be great!! Thanks for your time.

I would stick with the 33's with the 2" lift. Check my gallery and you can see the difference, I had exactly what you had. Only difference is I went the 2.5" and the 1.5" AAL in the rear.

Thanks towrig i really appreciate the help but the pictures you had with the nitto tires where those on the stock 17 or 18? And do you think i need the 1.5 lift in the back? I want the big tires, but i want to be able to fit into parking garages. Thanks for the help!!

Both rims in the pictures are the factory 17's. No you dont need the AAL. I just put it on because I tow alot and I didn't want the front pointing to the sky.
I believe the the 295/70/17 nittos are just a little bit bigger than a 33, If I am not mistaken they are like 33.3". Just a hair bigger than 285/70/17

Youll be fine with 33's and get into parking garages with a 2inch.Ive been into some last weekend and had my 34 's 275/65/20 on my 20's with 2 1/2 leveling kit and just fit in.I touched the signs inside on the roof.
Now i got 18's 305/65/18 with 33.7's and the stock rims and i think it looks just right now.
I was so glad to get rid of the general 255/70/17's.You got aluminum 17's right? You can check my gallery also for pics.

Alright, I just came from the garage, from the ground to the highest point on the roof my truck measures 78 5/8 of an inch. Yeah I know its technical, I used a tape measure and a level. I think the BFG is a great tire, I just dont like the price, I would rather have my terra grapplers for 75-100 dollars cheaper per tire.

Thanks guys i really appreciate you guys taking your time......do both of you have the terra grapplers cause i was debating between those and the BFG and your sure that 33 will clear on 17 with only a 2 leveling kit? Thanks

yes im positive, I think there is a guy on here that is running 33's with no leveling kit, keep in mind there may be minor rubbing that way but that just shows its no problem with the leveling kit. So far I have about 3000 miles on my tires and I really like them

Get the 295x70x17 Nitto AT's on your stock wheels with the leveling kit and you'll be good to go! Just my 2 cent's.
